Well they finally did it, they made a W40K game that's bang on the money. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
You can Stomp about a Space Hulk intimidating xeno's with your oversized weapon.
I got this game last weekend (thanks Mrs Stigbob) and I've been purging the unclean with enthusiasm. It's been recently patched (enhanced edition) and now has randomly generated SP missions so you have some variety in your stomping (campaign maps). I've only played SP.
Positive :
The weapons are great, lore accurate and they have heft to them. They are all good no weapons are the bad ones, you just apply them differently. Even the basic storm bolter is still worth using later in the campaign if you want.
The graphics are spot on it really captures W40K's grim darkness and moldering industrial feel.
Sounds is brilliant and very atmospheric (some stuttering when lots of genestealers are screeching in the face of automatic bolter fire).
The game has a very nice feel to it, polished and responsive no fighting the controls.
Negative :
Your sqaudmates in SP can do daft stuff especially around doors you are trying to shut and radial command menu's are a bit sucky. However by using the quick keys "G" guard this point and "F" follow me you can very easily control where they go and avoid all of that. The radial menu for medic control reverses if you reverse Y mouse axis, but you quickly get used to that.
Best W40K game ever.
We are the emperors blade.
(The old threads timed out hence new one)
