Space Hulk Deathwing V2

Well they finally did it, they made a W40K game that's bang on the money. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

You can Stomp about a Space Hulk intimidating xeno's with your oversized weapon.

I got this game last weekend (thanks Mrs Stigbob) and I've been purging the unclean with enthusiasm. It's been recently patched (enhanced edition) and now has randomly generated SP missions so you have some variety in your stomping (campaign maps). I've only played SP.

Positive :

The weapons are great, lore accurate and they have heft to them. They are all good no weapons are the bad ones, you just apply them differently. Even the basic storm bolter is still worth using later in the campaign if you want.

The graphics are spot on it really captures W40K's grim darkness and moldering industrial feel.

Sounds is brilliant and very atmospheric (some stuttering when lots of genestealers are screeching in the face of automatic bolter fire).

The game has a very nice feel to it, polished and responsive no fighting the controls.

Negative :

Your sqaudmates in SP can do daft stuff especially around doors you are trying to shut and radial command menu's are a bit sucky. However by using the quick keys "G" guard this point and "F" follow me you can very easily control where they go and avoid all of that. The radial menu for medic control reverses if you reverse Y mouse axis, but you quickly get used to that.

Best W40K game ever.

Space Hulk Deathwing's new free Enhanced Edition update is amazing.
I bought the game on release and it was fair to middling. Once through the campaign and you had seen it all. The New update with missions, classes and character mods totally makes this a new game IMO.

The devs did it all for free and finally made the game we were all asking for. Stigbob you really should consider Doing some Co-Op squad runs they are great fun!

I got it when it first came out, but diddnt touch it due to the bugs for a long time. They fixed the bugs I played it but once the story was done that was it.

Then a year on we got the overhaul, playing again as its nice to have somthing to play for. Coop on NM can be a lot of fun but dont do it with lv1's...

Funnily enough it was the original Space Hulk game on the 3DO that got me into warhammer 40k way back when :D

I'd love to, but internet where I live is sub-dialup most days. To download the game I went to town and had posh breakfast in a café with free Wi-Fi and spanked their connection for 30gigs in half an hour, that would have taken the best part of a week at my house.

Same as ED I'll give it a bash but it could be gamebreaking for everyone else.

A problem to be sure!
I was going to offer to Squad up. I think I take good internet for granted too much these days. Get your ISP to run some cable up to you or failing that get those chickens carrying some data packets lol

At least with the new SHD you can enjoy the character development solo. Plus everything else in game I suppose.
In fact you're probably better off without my terrible aim and poor tactical awareness :)

Purge the Xeno's!!

Lol I had a chap doing just that the other day, on hard FF on. He was kind of new so I let it slide and the flamer doesn't hurt that much.

Does anyone know if the hellfire bolters splash damage does damage to teammates or is it just by a direct hit ?, it's my favorite weapon and I don't want to kill everyone by accident.
