Speculation about the missing biomes

So now we are 3 days away from release, and I thought some last minute speculation would be fun.

We have many confirmed animals, but 3 biomes remain pretty empty despite existing in the game.

Desert - only unique desert animal is the Gemsbok, which is not even a "real" desert animals (compared to the other Oryx species, which live in much harsher "typical" deserts)
Tundra - has no unique animals, shares the Grizzly Bear, Himalayan Bear, and Timber wolf with Taiga.
Aquatic - has only the Hippo and Gharial, which are shared with other biomes.

What animals do you think will be at in these biomes at launch? (not which animals should be in some future DLC)

I think both the dromedary and bactrian bamel will fit the desert biome and should we see some australian animals like kangaroo or emu I think they most likely will fit the desert biome as well.
For tundra I think we will get the polar bear, caribou, siberian tiger & perhaps emperor of king penguin. Maybe the Japanese crane even?
Aquatic will have all the crocs, the pygmy hippo, the flamingo and perhaps the penguin & polar bear. I think the aquatic biome will be futher explored in a future DLC like with Zoo Tycoon 2 back in the day. The beaver, hippo, penguin & nile crocodile back then were the only water loving creatures in the main game and when marine mania got released those animals got some new aquatic mechanics as well. So I think the aquatic biome will be further explored in a future DLC

I really doubt we'll see Australian animals, as they seem to keep them for a DLC. I actually forgot about the camel.

And actually I think that you are right regarding the semiaquatic animals. Probably when an aquatic DLC comes they will get some more behaviours and animations.

Are you forgetting the polar bear? They do enjoy swimming back in Zoo Tycoon 2...

Here's my view:

Desert: If you believe in the datamining, we'll get quite a number of desert exhibit animals, like the taipan and the gila monster.
Tundra: Polar bears? Maybe? Penguins too..?
Aquatic: The crocodilians are. If flamingos are in the game, then they'd fall in this catagory.

does there need to be animals for each biome? surely some of the challenge come from building a zoo where animal will struggle and making a succesful zoo? for instance having a African elephant exhibit in tundra will provide an additional challenge but possibly draw good donations from public if you get them "happy?" or loads of protesters if you don't?

They also could just be setting things up for future DLC and such. Much easier to have the biomes already in the game and add animals to it, than try and add the biomes in afterwards.

I agree with you on this, my friend. :)
The only DLC Marine mania I believe will come out. if it came in the main game it would not be too detailed. but DLC always makes more sense in such matters. they do it much more detailed and good. a lot of new biomes, water types, tank types, water filter types, shows and more, that will be really crazy. i can't imagine. :)
I think of this; Yes! I don't have to play old games anymore (I'm mention about zoo tycoon). :)
in short, as you say. :)
but I think we have to wait at least 1 year before we can see them. I don't think it would be the first dlc anyway. I wish I had the first DLC marine mania.

This is a very good point. But if they do this, it feels a bit like teasing on their part. I'd much rather if they'd hise these biomes until they are relevant (especially Tundra and Desert)
