Speculation contest: Tropical animal pack

Just for fun!!

Write down your 7+1 roster of a tropical animal pack, in an attempt to predict the roster of the upcoming dlc.

For the sake of the exercise, I assume it's 100% a tropical animal pack or some variant of such, because both previous spring packs had a tropical theme.

Try to aim for a realistic roster, not for your own dream roster of such a pack. The person that comes closest to the actual roster will win eternal glory and a picture of a Capybara from Google Photos.

Well here's mine:
1. Capybara
2. ASC otter
3. Red river hog
4. Lar Gibbon
5. Tree Kangaroo
6. Sloth (with implementation like the Koala)
7. Cotton top Tamarin
8. Plummed basilisk

We didn't get a lizard in a while so I hope for a basilisk.

Capybara, howler monkey (of some kind), red river hog, but beyond that I really don't know. I suspect our exhibit animal would be the Lord Howe giant stick insect as per the datamined content, even though it isn't really a tropical animal. Fingers crossed for the Asian small-clawed otter, certainly. I don't think a gibbon is coming yet, or if it is, I'll be bummed out if it has brachiation but the orangutan still doesn't.

Wouldn't howlers and spider monkeys require even more branchiation than the gibbons?

Actually, I think we might get another macaque, langur, or even a guereza.

If it really is just a broad tropical or tropical rainforest pack it'll probably look like this:
  1. Capybara
  2. Black howler monkey or another species of howler
  3. Asian small clawed otter
  4. A gibbon species (probably siamang or white-cheeked)
  5. Red river hog
  6. A species of tree kangaroo
  7. Some kind of ground dwelling bird (way too many to pick from)
  8. A turtle or snake for the exhibit, since we only have 1 turtle and haven't gotten a dlc snake yet

I said it over in another thread but:

Capybara
Sloth (two or three toed)
Howler Monkey
Asian Small Clawed Otter
Lar Gibbon
Red River Hog
Fossa
Jackson's Chameleon (E)

That gives 3 from Africa, 2 from Asia and 3 from SA. But I could see the Howler Monkey, Fossa Sloth or even my precious ASCO being substituted for something else - if so, something from Oceania would be great, like a Tree Kangaroo. But I left that off of the original as I'm hoping for another dedicated Oceanic pack as it really remains the region that needs it the most.

If it's a scenery pack, and I really doubt it would be, the only two animals that are a must for me are the Red River Hog and practically everyone's must have the Capybara.

I cannot...simply cannot. imagine them doing this type of pack without the Capybara, nor would I want to see how the forums reaction to it. unless it were free, which it won't be, but that would be okay of course. They've done fairly well overall with the animal choices, I think they realize we would be...displeased..overall if they didn't include them.

Both my hopes and expectations currently lie in Asia, but for the sake of the thread:
  • Capybara
  • Howler monkey
  • Two-toed sloth
  • Red river hog
  • Fossa
  • Asian small-clawed otter
  • Tree kangaroo
Pretty similar to everyone else’s lists, but it’s still a nice little sampler from around the world without feeling forced. South America in particular would really appreciate the boost afforded to it by this lineup, and Africa would also get two of its biggest remaining opportunities checked off.

Here's the thing, I'm building a North America Zoo with only North American animals, so with that being said, I would like to see a Peccary and Coati (Collared and White-Nosed to be specific). An armadillo or ocelot would be nice too. Here's what I would want...

1. White-Nosed Coati
2. Collared Peccary
3. Capybara
4. Fossa
5. Gibbon
6. Maned Wolf or Andean Bear
7. Red River Hog
8. Any Chameleon lol

I still think birds could be a possibility (bathing would definitley be a nice behavior for a lot of species). But as that's not the focus of this thread, let me give you my predictions.
  • Capybara
  • Golden lion tamarin
  • Gibbon
  • Red river hog
  • Tree Kangaroo
  • ASC Otter
  • Fossa
  • Panther chameleon

A sloth would also be quite probable, as any other SA monkey species. But to be honest, I think this would be a really boring pack. It wouldn't add anything new to the game, specially some new birds would be really necessary. Anyway, I'm really exited to see what will be the new DLC!

I actually don't want something like this to happen--it would box out more temperate/grassland-oriented South American animals, while the continent with the worst representation relative to its biodiversity and number of common zoo species (yes, more than Oceania IMO). An animal pack that's just taking two or three animals from three different continents (SA, Africa, Asia) could just feel kind of shallow. I'm also skeptical that it's happening, since I think it would come with pre-announced climbing updates (applicable to the Orangutan in particular) if it were to bring the sloth, gibbon, and/or a prehensile-tailed New World Monkey. My personal preference, and what I'm optimistically calling that Frontier will do, is a South America retread. But if I am wrong:

Capybara
South American coati
Red river hog
Mantled guereza
Fossa
Asian small-clawed otter
Matschie's tree kangaroo
Panther chameleon (exhibit)

I already put down my list in the final predictions thread, so I'll just copy my list from that thread.
  • Capybara
  • Fossa
  • Mantled Guereza
  • Bald Uakari
  • Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
  • Asian Small-Clawed Otter
  • Hoffmann's Two-Toed Sloth
  • King Cobra (exhibit)
