Spring 2022 dlc

@Doran Prod_final just became active on Steam database. I’m assuming this is a good sign?

Only bit that hasn’t been live for 2 weeks now is dev_final_branch.

How does this compare to previous launches?
I guess SteamDB will be active this weekend and first teaser next Thursday.

I don't understand this "anti disappointment" vibe that starts circling around every time as the next update nears.

I mean I get it generally in life but I don't see how it can be applied here.

"Don't set yourself up for disappointment." I mean what's the worst manifestation of that disappointment?

I thought the update would be on one date but it turns out it was on another.

It's always been about "when" is next DLC coming, never "if". Even when it comes to the end that's still pretty low stakes, right?

Go on, be hyped about the game you like, you're risking nothing. There's no disappointment as long as we're getting anything, and we are and we will

I love hype. I think the fear (for me, at least) is that that disappointment is channeled into anger. As someone who joined right around the Europe DLC, I've noticed that things like the Lumi post sparked anger solely because people got hyped and read too much into them. To me, the worst case scenario is that someone takes out their disappointment as anger on other forum users or even the devs. Of course, that's far from common behavior (I hope), so I'd say I encourage hype! Just remember to hype responsibly :p

I agree. I love the hype and getting excited together. I see guessing the days as a bit of fun rather than disappointment, but understand that everyone will respond differently. I’m grateful to be part of a community that’s passionate about this game, and I enjoy connecting with everyone and imagining about what’s coming.

Sorry for double post, but thank you. That would be next point. I mean all in all there isn't much anger going around when compared to earlier days but it's still a thing.

I think it's continuation of people taking this too seriously. I do also think in good number of those age might be a factor but that's in guessing territory now.

Typically the "anti-disappointment" thing is around the what, not the when or the if.

People are expecting something big this time around, for example - birds. There's a very good chance it won't be birds. There's a very good chance it will never be birds - nobody should accept it as a guarantee.

Excitement around what it could be is fine, but assuming something amazing seems counterproductive. It could just be a bog-standard pack.

Yes, everyone is waiting for it just need patience because if you already prepare expectations and then in the end it will not happen it will just disappoint you so it is better to take it with a little salt
That's my take on it too. I got way too caught up in it before the North America release, and I realized it's okay, something will be coming. at some point, soon. It's roughly 3 months give or take a week or two (or three in the case of NA to Europe lol). I just personally don't want to get my hopes up daily for them to fall every single day. But that's me and how that affects me. If someone has the hope daily and doesn't get disappointed every day when it's not "that day" or even if they do and want to continue with that, that's definitely their right and choice.

I guess after NA I just adopted the whole "I'm not going to worry about when". I might have hopes and face disappointment in the inclusion of particular animals in the whole time of the game's run life, but that's just an overall thought, I'm not psyching myself up for it every third month.

So I apologize if anything I've said has offended anyone; I have my sense of humor and it can be a little acerbic at times, but ultimately, everyone has a right to guess/anticipate/hope how they want. Whatever keeps the game fun for you (Meaning that in a positive happy way)
