Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

This would be so perfect.... Thats why it’s not gonna happen :( also Id change the bear for a rabbit!
As long as the monkeys and birds stay I’m game for anything. TBH I don’t even care if the birds we get are the species I mentioned, if one final pack can near double the amount of bird species I’ll be happy. As long as I get more than one or two.

I also think 200 species would be very satisfying so there are 2 ways to go for me. Either they release a classic scenery pack in April with 5 species (from Central/South America) and a final pack with 15 species from all over the world in July/August, or they just realease a final pack in May (as we know the last pack will by in FY 2024) with 20 species from all over the world but with a bit more effort on South America. I like the first option because it seems realistic but also if we know that the game is coming to an end, I want it to come quickly so I don't have to suffer for too long. The secund option is therefore attractive too.

If I had to create a final 20, I would go with: 15-16 habitat species, 2 walkthrough exhibit species (macaws and lorikeets if possible 🤞) and 2-3 classic exhibit species (a chameleon, a cobra and whatever you want for the last one). For the habitat species I would go with:
  • 5 from SA (Coati, Spectacled Bear, Ocelot, Black Howler Monkey and Patagonian Mara)
  • 2 from NA (ABB, Rocky Mountain Elk or Sea Otter)
  • 3 from Africa (Nile Crocodile, Hamadryas Baboon, Grey Crowned Crane)
  • 3 from Asia (Palla's Cat, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, Blackbuck)
  • 1 from Oceania (Echidna)
  • 1 from Arctic (Walrus or Musk Ox but Walrus is definitely more needed as it is difficult to mod)

I miss something from Europe but I don't see much species left that are very interesting (except for the brown bear but we alreay have several populations of the brown bear in game). I would also love pelicans or ducks but I'm counting on our friendly modders for that :|

I love how the GSNM sneak into this "essential" animals final pack 🥰

That said i think this pack is missing a pelican or duck which i would choose for Europe or NA instead of the elk. And rhea instead of spectacled bear of we are getting the ABB as well.

The fact is that for Asia I only see Palla's cat and Blackbuck as essential now. Maybe the Raccoon dog could be essential too but I thing GSNM is way more exciting. Markhor could be a nice choice too but we already have the takin and I'm happy with it (+ there already has a great mod for Markhor 😅).
I wouldn't mind a duck instead of ABB or the elk.

I don't know why so many people are frustrated, but the live video said that PZ's support is not over,As we all know, when making DLC in PZ, a lot of preliminary work is often done in advance. This means that when they said this, they were already planning for next year's DLC. The DLC for the first half of this year may have already been completed, We just need to wait for their surprise.so we can still get at least four DLCs this year, and perhaps PZ can survive for another two years

One can hope, I don't want to believe this just yet to not upset my expectations.

Okay, I have worked in some game and animation studios before, And they will plan future updates or storylines in advance. Not to mention big companies like them. So I am very confident that this year will be the same as usual.Relax, my friends.
Believe in at least "200 animals" theories
Well, the whole point is that so far it isn't the same as usual. Had things been the same as usual, the financial reports would have mentioned PDLC in FY25 or PDLC throughout CY24. But they didn't. They for the very first time did not mention anything about continued support for the rest of the year, whilst they are in a situation where more than ever something like that would be needed. We can pretend that it means nothing and it's not a big deal, but at the end of the day it's a clear departure from business as usual. That's just a plain fact we can't get around.

We've known for a while now that there's at least one more PDLC planned, which is going to drop in this FY, so the whole "PZ isn't over" part was something we've known now. It isn't new information. Whilst you're certainly right that this stuff is planned in advance, the majority of the community understands that it isn't a thing they just whip up in the +- 3 months between releases, what they said simply cannot be taken for granted as "we've got the next year planned". It could be, sure. But it could also be "hey we have one more for you guys as a goodbye".

Given the lack of confirmation for the next FY nor confirmation for more PDLC throughout this CY, and the fact that Planet Coaster's initial reveal of console also indicated support for the PC version being over (because apparently it was already announced in 2019); there's more information pointing towards the one more PDLC than there currently is information pointing towards another full year.

Is another full year impossible? Of course not. Is it likely with all the information we have at hand? Less so. Could it be that they're holding back information? Maybe, but speculation on the information we have at hand is always going to be more likely than the potential scenarios we can imagine in our heads;
