Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Having macaws fly overhead while other animals meander about is cool but honestly... Implementing it in a way where they could interact with the other animals would be even better (and that's something I think a sequel would handle way better -- especially if they planned the game for it from the ground-up).
True, but then in a sequel we would have way more options for birds, I just need one to hold me over and seeing how macaws are one of the most iconic zoo birds ever I would still really like making mixed enclosures that have everyone in it, just not interacting with each other.

Feels like now if they stick with the pattern of regular exhibit and walkthrough exhibit animals switching each pack and we get another WTE animal, theres only a few that can fit with the system if it’s NOT a bird and they stick with their phobia of feathers.

I don't want golden lion tamarins in a walk-through exhibit set-up. They're only two inches shorter than prairie dogs and TBH the scaling in the game is so wonky, anyway, that making them a bit bigger on-screen would be fine for me. Hah. As for the babies? Just have them cling to the mother's back like they tend to do anyway.

Sugar gliders I almost feel the same way about but the WTE set-up could allow for their gliding/flying animations to be more easily implemented by Frontier.

I'm still a little salty that we never got the slow loris in an exhibit box... I don't think they would work well for a WTE on account of the venom but they would be so awesome as an exhibit animal (given that they have similar issues to the sloth in terms of speed hah).

These had been shared a while back, but man, these are adorable! Giving us basic versions of those signs would be amazing. It's also interesting seeing where some of the ideas for the signs started versus what we actually got when the DLC dropped.

And I will stand by this game having all sorts of fun stuff in it... But still, somehow, some very basic "modern" things are missing as far as scenery goes. A sign format like that would be so awesome!
Yeah, wish we had more realistic choices for stuff like signs, donation boxes, rides and the likes. Alot of the stuff we have is either futuristic, very cartoony or huge and megaloman. Really wish they did not scrap these sings.

I don't think they will stick to this pattern. They will choose the type of exhibit animal that suits best the theme of the pack. Especially when talking about South America, there are many normal exhibit animals that are often requested, like the green basilisk, emerald tree boa, mata-mata, green anaconda and blue poison frog.

Y
I would take the tamarins in the walkthrough exhibit over not getting them at all, beats a second sloth.
Yeah my thought exactly. While i would definetly prefer them as habitat animals, id rather have them as WE than not at all.
And id definetly prefer WE tamarins over the sloths or another bat.

Might be a hot take but i find you can play around with the WE enough to open up alot of possibilities with them

Well there are actually some good South American exhibit animals for regular exhibits.

I could see why they would choose to do another regular exhibit one, but I just dont want one cause exhibit box animals are boring in general for me, they look great, but I can't really build for them.
Basilisk or mata mata for me please 🙏🏽

They didn't specify how many DLCs, and the PZ console port was it's own category in that presentation, not even confirmed as Planet Zoo then. June is the more typical time after Easter, but is not this financial year.

The current Frontier publisher sale does look like attempting to increase the customers for the nearish future, which might be what they'd want to do if they had more expensive finale DLCs lined up for both games. There's also the next F1 game in midyear, but that's pretty much all there seems to be in the next few months.
I think before may ends we will have one, remember the FY ends in may.
But Im glad the console version increased the numbers in the pc version!

The idea of walkthrough Bat exhibits also strikes me as a pretty significant health risk (they can harbour all sorts of diseases without showing symptoms. For Fruitbats, Hendra virus comes to mind), I would be surprised if that sort of thing exists much in the western world.
They are very common, almost every bat enclosure I've ever seen has been walkthrough. Including Chester, London, Bristol, Zurich, Berlin.. etc., I'm sure others could add more.

I mean, it's "late" in that the spring DLC has regularly released the week of Easter. But Easter is usually later in April so... Technically, I guess it's still not "late" but there's a very good chance it will be announcing/releasing much later than we are used to even from a date perspective.

But I'm 100% convinced that it's all by design because of the console release and it's not actually late.
