Golden pheasant for the win, y'all!
Reeves is my real life favorite but for the game i really want the golden pheasants for the game. Would add so much color.
I do think we need another “kiwi sized” bird as we usually get a lot larger ones like emu and cranes. Pheasant, hornbill, Scarlet Ibis, crowned pigeon, any smaller bird, preferably a colourful one.
Yes i agree. In an ideal world in which birds came in every DLC we could've gotten all that already.
A colourful bird from the American tropics would be ideal. I am saying that mainly to plug the glorious ocellated turkey. I could easily imagine a flock of these pecking around in tapir paddocks or in a tropical house setting.
Yeah, this is the part that makes me curious/ worried about this next dlc.
- There may be only 4 or so slots I think are “necessary” to fill the bird roster. That still doesn’t change the fact that many countries/ biomes/ continents have a lot of birds that should make it into the game but won’t.
- If this is the last dlc, I really don’t think they are gonna have more than 1 bird. I hope they will, besides monkeys they need the roster boost the most. Knowing Frontier’s history they won’t do that though.
- If this turns out to not be the last dlc, I can’t guarantee the DLCs going forward will also have the birds that are needed. Once again Frontier’s history shows that may not happen.
Ocellated Turkey is honestly a perfect fit for an American tropical house.

Console is probably the money maker right now, so they are gonna push it harder. We will see whenever a financial report comes out.
True but those tutorials are really great and can also be used by pc players.
Totally new approach is frontier being the sponsor for this new content.
I mean, in all fairness, console players have been asking for PlanZo console edition for years and just recently got it while the PC playerbase has gotten pretty much everything and then some, so I'm not too disappointed or annoyed by the console posts. Plus, it's nice to see Frontier interact with their fans again after not doing so in forever

Mine would be:
(I know not all of them would be in one update, it's just something I'd like to see in the future)
- Proper herding/pack system, animals no longer scatter around, social groups are more likely to stay near each other and around the same species, juveniles will now keep around parents.
- Transport for staff, including a special path dedicated for vehisles only, staff now can cover bigger area in shorter amount of time thanks to vehicles. It can carry extra food (the keeper doesn't have to go back to his hut to make another meal for another habitat) and up to four animal boxes (in this case the animals must be going into the same habitat).
(this, or being able to set quicker visit of habitats by the staff)
- More types of skin textures for common zebra, it's known that no zebra has the same pattern, we can't do that in Planet Zoo but we can at least make the illusion better with more stipes variety, comming up with fixing the leucistic zebra pattern (it was reversed) and additional melanistic and albino variation. We also removed 'horse call' sounds from zebra soundboard.
- Antlers/horns remake, antlers or horns shape now reffers to the overal genetic rating of the animal, making it so golden rated antlers look bigger/better than from a bronze rated individual.
- We are finally announcing the so much wishlisted remaster of the west african lion with added color variety for west african lion mane, making it so some males have darker or lighter mane. Even thought it's believed that in nature males with darker mane are more likely genetically better, healthier and more interesting for females, in Planet Zoo it's only for visuals and it's inheritable.
- (Color variety for timber wolf, adding darker, lighter and reder versions of the basic textures, color variety for peaflow including piebald... I would appreciate ANY new variety on animals really, they hyped it up in the Europe pack and then hardly any add-on with variety happened)
- Natural looking versions of animal enrichment or more shape variety of the same enrichment items
- More animal icons and pictures in building assets
Had a dream last night we got a scenery pack that was a finale. Theme was random generic building pieces with a few city buildings. Roster was Black Howler Monkey, Eurasian Brown bear, Domestic Water Buffalo and the White Tailed Deer with an exhibit Chameleon. Habitat animal reveals started strong but got dramatically worse each animal. The community was fuming.
If only we had the perfect thread for that
