Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

The scenario I can see is:

- Planet Zoo Console launch is the Easter DLC slot type release

- Multifplatform final DLC which is larger than usual in the Summer (June/July)

And the final dlc is included in the ultimate edition season pass and obviously they won't announce that now so they kept it out of the marketing.

I am excited to play console edition but it's not complete without atleast 1 flying bird like a parrot or something

As much as I would like that, that does not make sense either because Summer already is FY25, and the report says the upcoming DLC will come in FY24, that is the 30th of May as the latest date.

What if the finale pack comes after the console release and works as a “premium upgrade”? When a person buys the console you have the standard, deluxe and the ultimate versions, what if after or the week or 2 before the console release they announce a “premium pack” that has the rest of the zoo icons that can work as an additional upgrade to the console players and as a pack to PC players as usual.

This would be the only way I can see them releasing the pack at the same time as console, because this actually can help marketing for console; “Don’t want to wait for the remaining 14 packs later on? Purchase this expansion pack that has some of the most iconic zoo species to it!” Again, I really don’t think it’s gonna be a LA pack because for one a pack like this I can’t see why they wouldn’t include in the pass, I know they wouldn’t mention that there’s 15 DLCs in the pass but if it’s LA that serves the same kind of theme as other packs like SA or tropical etc. The last pack needs to have a special worldwide and iconic roster so that it can act as a “zoo favourites pack” to any console player. That would explain why we never got Walrus, ducks, Baboons, etc. and it could also feature stuff like Spoonbills/New Flamingo, rabbits, goats, etc. all of the animals that console players wouldn’t be able to wait for if we got them because they are known and iconic animals.

I would call this “Planet Zoo: Collectors Expansion”.

Having the final pack work as a “fourth edition” to console players, except instead of a base game purchase, it’s in the form of a larger pack.

I have a feeling frontier is doing the same as planet coaster allowing them time to port each dlc to the console edition without being pressured to get them all ready for the release.

I might be confused, but I think Planet Coaster got a free interactive shooting ride at the end of the game. Or was it when it was released to console? I wish we can also get a free animal whenever support ends (in addition to a larger DLC).

Came out in June so when pc support ended, quite possibly it could happen again with the last dlc or even the anniversary.

I’m sticking with this idea, so here is my new prediction of what I think we will get for the finale:

Planet Zoo: Collectors Expansion arriving March 26
12 brand new species that are the most iconic missing animals left, helping the console players out while they wait for the rest of the packs, as well as these animals have been requested by the community in general:
  • African Dwarf Goat (clone with maybe a new interacting animation)
  • Grey Crowned Crane (clone)
  • Hamadryas Baboon (mandrill rig but modified)
  • Walrus (clone)
  • Duck species (clone)
  • Pelican species (clone)
  • New World Monkey (howler or spider; rig from siamang but enhanced)
  • Markhor
  • Bear Species (clones) OR because we have a lot of bears in the base game, Gerenuk (basically a clone)
  • South American Coati (new rig)
Exhibit species:
  • Chameleon species (I refuse to finish this game without a chameleon)
  • Macaws (JWE added a looped aviary with pteranodons in their last pack, then added real aviaries in the sequel, I can’t see why they can’t do the same with PZ. Add Macaws in the WTE, then have a fully functioning aviary in PZ2.

From what animal Walrus / Duck / Pelican would be a clone ?

I hate we reached the point where our holy saviour, the duck, is classed as a clone
But, isn’t it though? It would need very small improvements from the baby swan model.
