Spring 2024 PDLC speculation

Just earlier today, a new interim report , which Frontier publishes every January-February on their website, has been released and its presentation report has confirmed a new PDLC release for FY24 (June 1-May 31), page 9. Normally, I would be waiting for an LQA update ever since first learning of them, like I did for the latest pack, and there isn’t another one yet. But, this is an exceptional circumstance.

I’m almost certain it will be a 4+ dino pack, but nobody knows for sure what it will have.

The only most likely scenario I can come up with at this time is a “Small Carnivore [Species] Pack” for a few good enough reasons. Mainly because there are files attributed to such dinosaurs, one from the Jurassic period (Segisaurus) and three from the Cretaceous period (Austroraptor, Dilong, and Microraptor), in the folders of the latest DLC pack, and its vibes are not like the files of unused species for JWE1. The previous game likely had those files way longer than when they were first shared by the community because one of them were undoubtedly left over files for the Sinoceratops because of similarly recorded lines as well as the fact it was originally named “Pachyrhinosaurus” during Fallen Kingdom’s production.

(Example)
Old file: “This Pachyrhinosaurus should prove interesting.”
Retail file: “This Sinoceratops should prove interesting.”

Another reason why I think so is because in JWE2, all of the dinosaurs are sorted into three different size categories: Small, Medium, and Large. Something that JWE1 has never done before. All of the four said dinosaurs, based on the categorization of current in-game dinosaurs, would undoubtedly fall into the “Small” category, especially since all other 4+ dino packs have species containing two or all three size categories and not just one.

Either way, whether my speculation is true or not, there is one and final thing for the last half of FY24, as there’s usually no two or more PDLCs within this said timeframe for their games, until the next financial year.

I really hope that that not that 4 Species are together in the next DLC .
Why ??? 2 of them would be nice to get ,but 2 are allmost pointless in my opinion compared to other possible new species.

First the " Nice to Get "
1.) Austroraptor ( 6m Long) : Relative BIG raptor that could get animation for our fish feeder ! .... This is my most wanted new Raptor for this reason .
2.) Microraptor ( 80cm Long) : could have nice Animation for climbing on rocks/trees and gliding back to earth ..... it could be using the Insectfeeder ;)!

Here the "allmost Piontless"
3.) Segisaurs ( 1m long ) : it looks just to similar to Compys and can´t bring any great new animation.
4.) Dilong ( 2m Long ): To Similar looking to Morus I. ..... would just be another smal theropode.

There would be much more interessting species that would look more unike and bring new spectacular Animations. like f.e......
a) Hatzegopterix ( 12m wingspann) : Giant Pterosaur with animation for Hunting walking on the Ground would be cool.
b.) Sarcosuchus ( 12m Long ) : Giant Croc-relative that could use the Laggoon Platform and an animation for the Sharkfeeder.
c.) Microceratus ( 1m Long) : The Last Onscreen Species of Dominion that is still not ingame.
d.) Plateosaurs ( 9m Long ) : At least to have ONE herbivore Dinosaur of the Triassic would be nice. It could walk on 4 and 2 Legs.....

So I hope still for many DLC´s with many new Animals and hopefully a few new Attractions and Some overdue Decos ( ahhmm.....Kelpforest.....äähhh ) for Jwe II in 2024,
but this "4 Small Species pack" wouldn´t bring much new content in comparison to the nice Aquatic Creatures Dlc where we got the Lagoonplatform with 2 Species that are able to use it and Lagoon Viewingdome as new Attraction that makes the lagoon look sooooooo much nicer ;) !

I'm excited that there is more content on the way. I'm also curious about the other console game being mentioned. My hope is it is Planet Zoo.
Planet Zoo isn’t the only PC only game they made, besides their Warhammer game they’re also porting to consoles. There’s also the last two Rollercoaster Tycoon games, minus the Nintendo Switch port of the complete edition. So, it can be anything and not just one thing.

A new Jurrasic park film has been announced
I know. It’s old news now.

After three months of waiting, a new SteamDB LQA update has been made four hours before this comment post.

The new DLC pack may very well release in March, next month, like all other Spring PDLCs for JWE2 have before it.
I feel that would be a little concerning... considering the release of the last few DLC packs, does this mean the new norm will be a pack every 4 months?

Since when has four months been normal? The only four month wait was between the Feathered Species and the Prehistoric Marine Species Packs. It’s been three months, generalized by day and week count, for the rest.

Wasn't it four months between the last two packs? Or was the messy release schedule just messing with my head?
It’s a “messy” schedule in comparison to 2022.

The Prehistoric Marine Species Pack released on August, four months after the Feathered Species Pack in March. While the Cretaceous Predator Pack released in November, three months after the latter. But that’s strictly speaking calendar months in general, and that’s what I meant in my other post. Though, it was also the number of days and weeks for the Marine pack.

Technically, the LQA update was made a little over two months after the last PDLC pack in terms of the number of days and weeks, but three months by calendar month release. The next PDLC pack may release three months after the last release by average day and week numbers.

I would assume it's thought of as an update per quarter, with the Anniversary update taking a spot from last year, pressuring an earlier release for the Marine pack (the only other August DLC was from a Covid affected Planet Zoo that missed out on a Q2 update).

The two most recent Twitter posts are looking a lot like hints (the Dimorphodon image itself is just a promo from the previous updates expanded variants).

The last Aviary species was almost a year ago, so one in the next DLC wouldn't be surprising. I think Pterosaur social animations are likely if it is aviary focused, not sure on the widely requested walking.

Hmm... potential hints of a Flying Species pack? I only hope they innovate like they did with the Aquatic Species pack... and not just make it four pterosaurs.

I don’t believe those images are hints or tied with anything. But I do think there might be at least one flying reptile in the next one as you said. My current guess, as I stated in my thread post, is Microraptor with good reason as I explained why I think do.
