SRV lights "alpha" vs now changed?

I just remembered how the SRVs headlights during the alpha started Off, whereas after Odyssey release and in Horizons, they always start on Low Beams. I'm just curious if I'm not the only one remembering this, and if it was intentional. It's a tiny change, but you can't feel like you're sneaking up to anywhere in an SRV if they automatically flick on when you deploy it.

I thought they always started on low beam.
My goto setting is to flick on the NV as the SRV drops then switch off lights before even moving from my Ship. Only switching lights on if I need to identify a building, then park up, lights off & leave the SRV.
Though sneaking up on anything is difficult, when a big noisy Ship approaches a Settlement AND I noticed yesterday that even with SRV lights off, I'd two massive red rear lights reflecting from the rear of my SRV 🤷‍♂️

Was it off? Or was it just so weak that you needed to go to High Beam to see any difference (since lighting was off quite a bit at the start of alpha)? I am not sure but I think the second.

I'll join the low beam crowd.

I seem to remember getting dropped in the dark and only when the deploy animation has finished the lights would come on.

As in I remember it always being low beams, except during the Alpha. Now I can actually switch it before the ship lets go of the SRV I just realized. I'd swear I couldn't do that pre-Odyssey.

Yeah, the lights have always started on low-beams.

I wish the game would remember what you had them set on, though. Had your headlights off and your night vision on when you docked the SRV? It should come back out that way...

It already remembers what the pips were set at, so also remembering your headlight & NV situation isn't too much of an ask, I think..
