SRVs and Guardian Sites

Thank you for the share. Wow that is awesome, i only had time to read to where Rat Catcher asked for more detailed photos, and wow to cool. I have never seen those types of scenes before. What an awesome pilot, to traverse an srv from one planet to another. And credit to the developers for making it even possible to that in an srv. The whole game is their unique vision of what a game should be, its fresh and awesome.
Here is another, um, mishap…

Why are there 3 pages about how brilliant/terrible the Scarab is (I'm in the camp of terrible, and the revamped terrain generation worsened it), when the Scorpion exists, which is a) way more docile to drive and b) way better suited to deal with Guardian sites ? I haven't used the Scarab for a long time now, and if I do, it's to pick off human targets with it's precision gun. In all other cases, unless I require the wave scanner, I use the Scorpion now. And a missile launcher deals with Guardian Sentinels pretty well.
Because most of us last visited a Guardian site before the Scorpion was introduced into the game?

Thanks to everyone who gave useful advice. Completed Guardian Shield Reinforcement requirements. I'll never have to do that again... Until the next time. ;)

Unlock everything else and also top off your guardian components, in case we unlock new modules when Space Hitler Salvation shows up with a mecha army.

The Scorpion is worse than the Scarab for all purposes except heavy combat. Lower ground clearance and that silly sticky-out front nose means it takes more damage from crinkly and boulder-strewn terrain, while handling more poorly. Its jump-jets are total rubbish even with max pips in ENG. Its primary plasma weapon has cruddy accuracy unless you're willing to hold down the fire button, making it poorly suited to situations calling for more sporadic fire.

If I'm expecting to face off against large numbers of footsoldiers, heavy skimmers, or spaceships while I'm on the ground, then I'll take the Scorpion. Otherwise the Scarab is the superior choice.

Gotta say, I've only used a Scorpion once and I seem to recall there was some show-stopping issue with it.

It certainly drives better than the Scarab but is there, perhaps, an issue with the turret where you can't drive the vehicle from the turret seat, or you can't swap from the driver's seat to the turret seat?
I recall trying it and thinking how good it was right up until the point where I realised there was something it couldn't do (possibly as a result of being designed for 2 people?) and then just abandoning any thoughts of using it.

I don't think it has a cargo scoop or cargo hold. I'm not crazy about the scorpion, i'm more effective in combat with a scarab. Gotta fly, lunch time is over!
