They aren't exactly space legs at that stage, are they?
Also, it may be a technical nit-pick, but I don't think clipping really constitutes “making angels”.![]()

If you're closing in on being a decade behind on development, you really have to latch on to the differences that might make a difference, no matter how irrelevant they are to the thing you're comparing against. Desperation trumps all other considerations of what is bothersome and what is not.The really funny thing is, why even bother?
[NERD]
Surely not lifelike (still a show after all), but not "unrealistic". That scene didn't mean to simply depict a sudden deceleration event, but that particular instance in which the "Ring space", as a mean of defence, stopped everything flying inside its space above a definite speed threshold down to a crawl. The moment the ship crossed the ring and was slowed down, the pilot head still traveled at several km/s and was "slowed down" only when it was too late, the torso instead remained in one piece (at least externally) because it was already stopped by the straps. That's also why in the subsequent scene the remains appear more to be like frozen instead that simply floating in zero g, they were identified as a "menace" and slowed to almost complete stillness.

Mental note... don’t catch up on the Expanse while eating...Without an external pressure force the head would simply be a 5 or 6 lbs object ripping free from its hinge (spine). This is just an instant deceleration so the head wouldnt "explore" thats what my issue was. Also with an abrupt stop from km/s to zero the torso would ve reacted the same way, no matter about the straps. The straps would ve rather acted like scissors. Also hard to believe that the whole ship(?) remains in one piece ^^
The whole point of what happens there in The Expanse is indeed the ship (and pilot torso) are kept totally unharmed. It's actually explained later (through "whatever" controls the portal) and IIRC it's even pointed at, in-universe by scientists who investigate it...Also hard to believe that the whole ship(?) remains in one piece ^^

Still, illustrates rather well my feeling when i see SC ships stopping from supersonic speeds on a dime..
I wouldnt want to spoil the whole show for you as this is quite central to the point. And season 2 is spectacularAh so PALEEEZE explain it then, not knowing is torture and I have yet to watch the expanse (is it possible that its a cheap rip-off of the novel "Pushing Ice" by chance?)

It sure looks pretty, no denying that. How long would it take to walk to the mountains in the distance, do you think? Hutton Orbital length of time? Not sure if this has been posted here, but:

Probably more yeah. You might get a vehicle to get there quickerIt sure looks pretty, no denying that. How long would it take to walk to the mountains in the distance, do you think? Hutton Orbital length of time?
I guess this is finally the fall of CIG, with the BBC "investigation" and all.
It's nice that they acknowledge that the servers aren't able to actually cope with the game they've designed.Overall development update on 3.8 and beyond.
