Taking the linked comment of his he thought 2016 was quiet normal considering the scope and 2018 reasonable, yep
That's a bit harsh. He said at least 4 years back in 2014, that's before the procedural planet tech. I don't think that's a bad estimate considering the timeframe.
I feel again that you guys are overreacting, wich happens a lot in this thread.

On that note, how long did it take before CIG were willing to admit that you simply couldn't visit the vast majority of any of that set dressing? Was it ever mentioned before players got their hands on it and had to discover it on their own?

I was never under the impression that I'd be able go into the vast majority of the buildings. But I wasn't following the minutia of SC before mid-2017. Especially after Hurston/Lorville where almost all of the buildings are something to look at, not to go into.

On Arccorp you can visit almost all of it. Most of the buildings are at least physicalized and many of them have landing pads that you can land on. After that there isn't anything really to do except maybe a nice perch to watch a sunset.

I think at some point in time CIG said that it would not make sense to make every building enterable, because it would be the same thing over and over. But that the "procedural" tech they are coming up with to make the different Rest Stop/Space stations could be used to add different buildings that could be entered with some shops.

Right now Arccorp is covered by an enormous no fly zone and a waste compared to Hurston where you can at least drive around on the planet or surface mining etc. At least what game play there is can take place on Hurston. Not so much on Arccorp.

Yes, dig deeper

He also said that CIG netcode is almost ready to handle thousands of players and that it's matters of weeks not months or years when that is going to happened....listen there are dozens of his false claims&predictions but I guess that he is your friend or maybe a "guild" partner so I will STOP posting his nonsense from the past...tho' he probably deserve to face with a bit of harsh reality.......

He's now exclusively a Facebook streamer, fitting SC roleplay battles between COD Modern Warfare sessions.

A tinfoil theory could be "hi Rex, your 1yr contract to promote Star Citizen on Twitch has expired, and successfully boosted the game's stats. Here's your bonus. We'd like you now to target the casual mainstream on Facebook, using popular games, you interested in this new contract?"

Target casuals? Oh no! Can't be having that! SC is a game for the real gamer! Can't be having filthy casuals playing it!

Well I am srry but you NEVER been open for ANY criticism about your"dream"game and you always acted like is your duty to protect and only admire EVERYTHING that CIG or CR did or promised that they will do in "near" future.....And now when you mention the PREDICTION I am really curious when do you expect that CIG going to reach the beta state of this game and when we could expect to have server-meshing and thousand of players in the same instance???
Because as I remember some of your PREDICTIONS and CLAIMS are proved to be FALSE.....ohhh look here is the one bellow....

Back in 2014 you expected that game will be totally finished around 2018...don't let me post some of your other nonsense when you claim that CIG already have netcode prepared and ready for thousands of players in 2015....and so on....Then again I am still glad that you are not missing any enthusiasm at all......

Wow, that didn't age well.

I never realized Mr. Novak had been spreading the "good news" since 2014. Amazing how someone can remain hyped for a game for so long. That's dedication.

I think we need some Roy Castle in the house!

Yes but now that they have six thousand employees, each one can spend plenty of time on establishing an even more robust pipeline to speed excuses to their destination.

Dozens of false claims and you come with something pretty moderate. Anyway, whatever, I don't know him, and no, he's not a guild partner. I just feel, it's pretty difficult to come here with a positive attitude towards SC whithout being attacked by the useal cronnies. The game is not bad, I enjoy it, he does, a few other here too. That's how it is, they are making progress, for all I care, let them take 10 more years, but is starting to work, and it's starting to work pretty good. I'm having fun in it and am looking forward to whats to come.

…unfortunately, as has been demonstrated quite thoroughly, “fun” is not a particularly relevant or useful measure.

But welcome outside the bubble. Here, where SC is put into context, you'll find that there's very little reason to maintain a positive attitude because there's pretty much nothing to be positive about.

why is that? I'm positive, welcome outside the bubble. And to be honoust, fun is a relevent measure for a game to me.

That is nonsense....there are people who regularly saying positive things about SC in here and nobody is being"hostile"towards them ....oh heck even I said few positive things about SC in the past.....the things is that Mr.Nowak acted always as one of those"Knights"that spewing out ONLY CIG commercials, praises and worships towards Croberts&CIG...thats all...

If you enjoying the game that is totally OK because you see I am also a backer but I am one of those who do not enjoy the game...sure there are things that are cool but also there are many more things in SC that needed to be finished"yesterday"and there is so many broken promises, manipulations and lies by CIG for all those years so the least some of us can do is to criticize this mess in HERE because you see from some reason we are not allowed to do that in their official forum.......

I dunno...I'm still enjoying it just fine amidst bouts of RDR2 and fallen order ;)

You clearly don't understand game development.

Release Candidate Year is always ([CurrentYear]+2)
