I had a dogfight with 2 wannabe Sovapids in the asteroid rings at Yela last night...one in an Anvil Arrow and t'other in a Cutty black...after 10 minutes of playing hide and seek around a big rock and blowing the engines off the Cutty with my upgraded multi cannons on the Prospector whilst doing me no damage at all due to me having military shields, the pair of them gave up and headed off to Grim Hex for repairs. I followed them and stabbed them in the back at Grim when on foot...revenge is a dish best served with a knife in the back ;)

:D nice! I think its in this sort of play where SC will shine where it mixes everything up. Me? I'd love to make some sort of secluded prison building out of cereal bars and space Marmite, brick them in with food and they have to eat their way out, Master Chef Saw style.

Most of the newbies tend to fly ships exactly the same as they control an FPS shooter...a lot of them use too much speed and very little skill since they have no experience of actually flying a ship. Once dogfighting, they either circle strafe or get into a jousting match which is so easy to counter, it's like taking candy from a baby...even in a bespoke mining ship. Neither of the 2 of them had a single thought to try and box me in around the big rock I was playing peek-a-boo with...I just kept popping up behind them and blowing bits off their ships.

I'm not really too interested in PvP battles...not in the slightest...but years of scrapping it out in Elite and flightsims with a HOTAS, voice attack and headtracking comes into it's own against a couple of 2D thinking M/KB Fortnite players who can't interpret a simple radar screen readout :)

Not sure if serious (?), but they first showed making progress on these moons in the August 16th, 2019 roadmap.
They started the process when the old V3 planet tech was in but scrapped that to make the moons anew purely with the V4 tech. They're the first planetary bodies to have been built from scratch with V4 as the rest, including Microtech, were originally built with V3 then consequently updated... Let's see if they're just empty moons with pretty scenery or have outposts on them or not...I strongly suspect they won't.

Just noticed this old Time Magazine headline. Unintentionally prophetic:

Yup. Here we are, in the distant future, and it still looks that way. Only even further off...

A bit serious but a bit sarcastic as well. In that ISC episode a few weeks ago they seemed skeptical about 3 moons in 3 months which was really funny, but against all the odds they have actually managed it. Tools and pipelines ftw

Eight years down the road, and they can't even produce a plan for development. Hell, they can't even conjure up an illustration of a plan — something humanity has been capable of for, oh, a hundred centuries or so… Distant future indeed.

Why should they?Heck they didn't even bother to change their excuse after all this years,so they can still go with same B.S:"SC It's still in early development/Pre-alpha/alpha phase"

Hold on! So, just like they had to remake the ships when they created new container tech, they also had to remake planets when they updated the planet tech?

They should rename the project to Refactor Citizen

And the faithful question why some of us think this project will never see the light of day.

It kind of shows how its a good idea to develop the tech first before the assets, rather than the CIG way of pumping out assets and then trying to make a game around them.

No no, they have a plan. They just can't tell us with their most open development ever because of spoilers!

Sumerian is 5,500 years old at least, and cuneiform is a fully formed formal mode of written communication. It was preceded by some 3000 years of ever more complex settling and community-forming, evolving out of another 2–3,000 years worth of cultivation of plants and domestication of livestock — all of which requires having a plan. We started illustrating the modes of living at least another 20,000 years before that, so it's not like the tool and skill sets were lacking…

So yeah. About a hundred centuries seems about right.

That's what is going to make the possible eventual arrival of the actual product so delicious.

CI-G have been hiding all these "spoilers" for nearly a decade. I can't wait to find out just how dreadfully poor SQ42 really is :D
