One of the most straightforward and clear videos about SC cattle biowaste claims on server meshing (and other similar quite unrealistic claims). Especially clear the part starting at 05:28.

The author goes to the point when describing CIG´s business model and their best damned promises ever: "... While nobody wants to be misled, we really really like being told what we want to hear. It is called Confirmation Bias..."

By the way came back from the holidays looking for the usual end of year Chris Roberts letter, did I miss it?

The ED:O weapons look like toys, and every enemy is a bullet sponge, basic upgrades require hours of grind to unlock and the maps look bland and uninspired.
Ed:O has no stealth mechanic, neither does elite. What you have described sounds like the opposite of fun, given the poor fps feature set.

Honestly, just play an fps. Pretty sure warzone is still free. Go play that for a couple of hours, then boot up ED:O
Hahaha, he thinks all enemies are bullet sponges, and that neither Elite nor its expansion Odyssey have stealth mechanics. As a bonus he thinks SC's FPS with 250ms+ artificial lag compares favourably to COD. This wannabe fanatic obviously hasn't played any of the games he talks about :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, he's just straight up trolling everyone.

I've played with the fps. It has an interesting mix of weapons, customizable attachments, and a punishing ttk.

I can take down most opponents in seconds with unenginered grade 2/3 weapons. I wouldn't call that "punishing". I've heard people running around with engineered grade 5 weapons that its way too easy (which brings us to the whole issue of engineering, both ship based and legs based, it adds power creep and separates the "haves" from the "have nots", still i hear High CZ have enforcers who are more of a challenge for those with engineered outfitting, but also this is just FD's typical "let's make things harder by turning them into bullet sponges" approach).

Apparently not. From his posting history, he's got a serious hate-on going on for ED at the moment, and he's got some serious beer goggles attached his face with regards to SC. Both statuses have seriously warped his perceptions, so it looks like he's comparing the ED in his head (which doesn't exist) to the SC in his head (which will never exist).

Ed:O has no stealth mechanic

Ok, admit it, you haven't actually played it right? You're just saying what you want to believe.

There are indeed stealth mechanics. Cones of vision. Footstep noise. Weapon noise. Detection difference based on lighting. Ability to take cover and hide. Sure, its no Thief in terms of stealth, which remains perhaps the Gold standard for stealth mechanics in a game, but that was a very special game which focused entirely around the whole concept of stealth.

Lol this guy just miss-sold stuff. Obviously wasn't very good at his job either 😂

Arguably he was very good at his job if he miss-sold stuff. Pretty much the nature of sales. Always hated being in positions where sales left me holding the ball after making a sale. "Yeah, i told the client you'd deliver X in Y on a budget of Z. Yeah, i've got my sales commission. LOL, off to buy a new car. Deal with it". Don't like marketing and sales in general. Been screwed over by them far too many times.

Honestly I don't know if single shard would be a good idea in an fps game.

Probably not, but CIG have been telling backers for years how there would be these massive space battles involving hundreds or even thousands of players. They sold backers on the idea of that and backers gave them money based on CIG's statements, even though CIG clearly didn't know whether they could do it. And when we skeptics tried to say to the faithful backers "Its not going to happen" we were called trolls and FUDsters and worse. And now, it turns out, we were right, and the faithful were wrong, and CIG was indeed misleading backers as to what they could achieve.

What i'm saying is, you should buy an Idris.

Nah, but its probably a good thing. Last year he basically told backers "it will be done when its done" about SQ42, not exactly words to inspire confidence, and waffled on about having to refactor all ship to install pipes for virtual air to flow through.

I can imagine the devs are praying like crazy that CR will not write a Christmas letter, dreading what other things he will promise backers.
