Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Based on what we know from the UK side of the business, it’s a “why not both” situation. IIRC, about 20% of the Calders buy in came directly from the Roberts’ (and Ortwin’s) “shares” of the company. Everything else was newly created shares. And of course, we know that CIG is buying back Calder’s shares, so it’s likely Calders insisted that some terms and conditions be attached.

Sorry, but how do we know they are buying back Calder's shares? I didn't see that from the financial statements. Looked like they had just paid Calder 5 million as profit. Was there something about them buying back shares?

I just realised that physics grids, or whatever we can call them, in Outer Wilds, work flawlessly. Every planet is moving along its orbit, moons orbit planets, there is a distinct feeling of gravity slowly taking over, while gravity itself varies depending on the celestial body. The ship has full interior and there are local forces, like strong storms or buoyancy, affecting its path. The flight model is fully Newtonian.

Aaand, the game adds portals in a recursive environment and gravity crystals that modify local gravity, to the mix.

All of it in Unity.

Calders liquidated part of their position. Don't ask me how I know it - I mentioned it when I linked to the new "accounts", so it must be somewhere there :)

But the ship hoovers you up via a tractor beam, rather than killing you with a good honest ramp. Nil points ;)

Good to know. Then i need to correct some statements i've made recently.... if i can remember where i made them

Hold on... so, if Calders have sold back some of their shares....

Oh, i can't wait for the next time one of the faithful brings up Calder increasing their stake shows they have faith in the project. I'll be right there with "So, if increasing their stake means Calder has faith in the project, what does their selling their stock mean?"

I’d like to see a source / quote to be honest. I haven’t seen anything concrete stating that they sold shares. The financial blog just says stuff like:

During 2020 the group made a return on capital of ($4.8M) worldwide, ($1.3M) in the Rest of World and ($3.5M) in the US. Much of this was to pay down accelerated taxes and fees arising from the structuring of the group and some was a return on the minority investment made to date, with net inward investment to date at the end of 2020 still equivalent to $58.4M.

IE $63,250,000 - $4,810,000 = $58,440,000

Also shown in the cumulative net position chart.

Just looks like monies paid out to me ¯\(ツ)/¯

I think I misunderstood it. Everyone look at me, walking backwards, awkwardly.

Certainly seems to be a lot of debate on Spectrum recently about PvP in SC.
