Q&W finally resurfaced to make a meme of CIG's latest doo doo.

Oh yeah, they did say some funny stuff. The monthly SQ42 word salad was published.

The AI Feature team continued to work on NPCs perceiving and reacting to dead bodies. Bodies are set up as usables, which brings a wealth of functionality.

This is generic functionality that will be used on specific characters, such as Captain White

S.I.G!

updating all story scenes to match the newly defined metrics.

Oh gods, they are reworking everything again???

The Space/Dogfight team prepared the campaign chapters to flow into each other continuously without reloads and worked towards completing the turret gameplay experience.

Oh wow! Much amaze!

Narrative began the year preparing for an upcoming motion-capture session.

MOAR MOCAP!!!

Once scenes are signed off, their final capture session will be scheduled.

Yup, they still haven't finished shooting scenes. Hold on, is this a game or a film?

Work on the new Starmap continued, with progress made on concepts, prototypes, and core technology.

LOL, progress made on concepts.... hahahahahaa

Also comments are gold.

Sorry CIG, I know I'm noisy which will probably cost you a few weeks in precious dev time but, can we have a video or some actually shown progress instead of these written posts? I know it's noisy but would love to SEE something instead of reading about it.

My Grandchildren will love to play it one day...im an 18 y/o..

Again, carefully written with attention to details, making sure that the reader has no indication of overall progress or state of completion at all...

Enuf noise please... the only acceptable noise is *Cha-Ching!$!$! from pledging new ships.

None of this means anything. This is pretend transparency.

Yeah, y'all are so ungrateful! Now go buy Anthem, Andromeda, Battlefield 2042, or some other AAA game like the good little cash sheep that you are. I don't care if you spent money on anything, or invested your time, you people have no right to receive anything at all! You people act like CIG promised complete transparency or something.

Anyway, TL/DR - SQ42 is nowhere near ready.

Sorry for the spoiler!

SQ68 is now here near ready?

Ray has tilted back to copium…

His theory?

  • CIG feared the backlash from either (A) projecting 4.0, then not delivering, or (B) not projecting 4.0 at all… [Seems quite possible]
  • CIG have a 4.0 branch up and running now, and when it all comes together, a 3.X patch will suddenly become 4.0 and hit the PU rapidly… [Secret dev build y’all ;)]

Bless him…

LOL, they just can't help but dream.

Someone needs to explain to this backer that this is an Alpha, and they did not purchase a game and skins. They pledged money to the development of a game to be delivered at some point in the future.

I'll be damned...reading through the thread right now, and there are actually people stating that this is alpha and things like this are to be expected...
But it officially says GAME literally everywhere on the site

This is a deliberate Machiavellian attempt on CI's part to confuddle potential and newly acquired fan base members. Please explain just how this isn't that a means for litigation?

Because all that word salad crafting DOES matter from a legal perspective. It's clear how an uninformed backer/pledger like this would end up assuming he's a regular franchise player, thereby arriving at said CS ticket. His frustration is evident and worse yet, nobody in the comments section seemed to care to explain said differentiation to him (or the many others like him).

Given Ray's reference to the reasons behind the mass exodus between 2.63 and the delayed and gutted release of 3.0 an entire year later...the video and his comments make some sense in that context. I get where he's coming from... although it's an angle I hadn't even considered due to my personal cynicism. It's just his take on it...but as that video and the reasoning behind Ray's commentary stands, it's a pretty good guess.

Like everyone else's guesswork and rampant speculation pertaining to SC and Ci¬G, only time will tell if he's on the mark or way off it :)

The main problem with his 'CIG are getting everything working in a secret build' theory is… CIG say that isn’t the plan ;). They’re supposed to be deploying the new database on its own in Q1/Q2 etc.

His initial 'everything is roadblocked, and CIG don’t want to admit it' theory seems on much firmer ground ;)
