Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Wow, I didn't know that:

"In 1842 the Rev John Stevens Henslow, a professor of Botany at St John's College, Cambridge, discovered coprolites just outside Felixstowe in Suffolk in the villages of Trimley St Martin,[12] Falkenham and Kirton[13] and investigated their composition. Realising their potential as a source of available phosphate once they had been treated with sulphuric acid, he patented an extraction process and set about finding new sources."(Wikipedia, Coprolite - should rather be Coprolith, imo)

So that's what Robbers new UK venture is about. Copro-mining. No doubt it will be hailed as ground-breaking new tech. Expect toilet tech updates in the coming months!

Cunning move to turn the stale turds of orphaned gameplay systems into potential new money sources.

Ender is such a masochist
The only explanation for content creators to play SC is that they are being paid.
In ships or fishbowls, who knows right!

Comedy transcript of Ender's clip there from last year:
"Elite's on steroids, the elite can't touch this, cannot. I have five years of loving that game, five years of loving Elite Dangerous. And only a few months of being like 'this stuff is possible now', it's not 'it's possible in the future'. They have a lot of promises for the future, and you know what, you can play a lot of those promises right now."

True that: exploring a massive galaxy, walking in massive Fleet Carriers, fighting aliens, engaging in faction warfare, modifying weapons and equipment, heroic multi-system fuel and repair rescues, true persistence of gameplay, Squadron group competitions, and all in glorious VR. What a game! :D

NMS too, but it also has base building, farming and mechs! :D

Poor Star Citizen is so far behind the times with its endlessly-delayed promises

Streamers gotta stream baby

He's gone from pure SC coverage to a range of games recently though. Playing more Destiny 2 than anything at the moment ;) (His attempts to draw his SC fan base into Tarkov Tuesdays didn't go that well)

Who can blame the guy for trying to diversify though. Being hitched to SC seems to be winding him up ¯\(ツ)/¯
What do you expect when new audience mainly consists of refugees - meek, disillusioned, desperate. SC is a sinking ship.

You seem to say that every SC streamer is stuck to SC for whatever reason.
Do you think exclusive streamers of any game are stuck also ?

Many streamers hitch themselves to a game to snowball a dedicated audience, it’s hardly unusual, sure. (Or for streamers to eventually feel trapped in that niche).

Obviously the distinct aspect with SC is that they have to treat it like a daily driver, like an actual game, while it’s still a buggy alpha. (Sometimes on the expectation that it’s going to turn into a robust game 'soon', meaning they’ll have made a name for themselves prior to a larger fan explosion).

That’s gonna break some brains over time…

Still, there’s always the reaction vids to all the endless marketing vids ;). SC is a content locust’s dream in that respect…

Total cost? Or you'll lose most of them in the next wipe?

The two on the left, Mercury Star Runner and 325A are mine, real money, also the Gray Cat Golfcart on the far right but that was free.

Inner left to right are in game currency, Prospector, because mining, 100i as a runabout, originally i bough the Pisces as a runabout but then decided i wanted one with a bed, the 100i.
Right of it the Dragonfly because hoverbike, and finally the Tumbril TR, ground runabout.

The MSR because its a brilliant all rounder, you can fit anything smaller than the Tumbril Tonk in the back, multiple vehicles at once, lots of cargo space, its multi-crew or single-crew and i like the way it looks and handles.
The 325A is a fighter, a good one and the only good fighter with a bed.
