Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Imagine blaming the players for installing SC on hardware CIG literally says is fine to install on:

As per CIG themselves, SC should run perfectly fine on a PC with AMD FX 8320, 16GB RAM, 160GB HDD, and a Nvidia GeForce GT 640 4GB.

Yeah, that's not happening.

8.1 went out of support from Microsoft on 10th Jan, so I assume they will be updating that minimum spec soon enough!! :)

So after some time I started that other game today to do an on-foot mission and to this day I am blown away by the fact that when I look at a moon, it is an actual moon, stars are actual stars and that crater that would be part of the sky box in other games, is an actual crater on a real-life sized planet I stand on.

Appart for the stars and 1/6 size, same for SC.

Don't let @Asp Explorer know he's here...he'll start whinging about his absent spaceship USB drive again

Then where is it my dear Mole? I doubt your cows ate it, perhaps the Sandurmie choked to death on it? That could explain it's non-appearance this last 70% of a decade.

We are still eagerly awaiting Stanton to be finished. Pyro should appear any week soon. Nyx has been touted as the next one to expect. But Leir of the White Worm, aahhh, we'll have to wait on that one for a while I think.

Which happened because it refused to install anywhere else, like the SSD he tried to install it on to start with, no-one saying, "buggy Installer" here? Just another in the list of bugs, you get them before you actually get to the game, they can't even write an installer properly.

My dear Varonica - I quite clearly recall at least one SC iteration where, upon launching, the SC client completely deleted itself apart from it's container folders.

Hey you know, it's alpha ! You don't want bugs, don't play an alpha.
95% chance he has an EXFAT formating.
I had one before and I had also to copy from a HDD to SSD. It's a known limitation that one guy said to him without him trying to solve 🤨

Well installer is such basic part of software's functionality that saying "its alpha" after ten years is rather poor excuse.

Ah, it's his fault then, will keep that for future reference!
Yes. If you don't want bugs, don't play alpha. Wait at least for beta or release.
What he was experiencing was easy to solve. He tried an alpha, see bugs and quit without really trying to solve them.
I had the exact problems he has and solved them.

LOL - I was glad my drink wasn't over my laptop when I read this otherwise my laptop would need replacing . What's a few billion stars, 6x the size and who knows how many planets more where you can experience a similar experience.
What I experienced was that the first ten planets (at 6x the size of SC) were pretty bland and similar and the fun quickly wore off. So after doing some research on how many biomes I could expect to discover on those x billion planets, I gave up.

Waiting 11 years now. Any idea how much longer I need to wait for at least beta?

I'm literally scared to ask about release at my age.
No need to wait. As you don't really want to play this game just forget it. You'll see some news when it will be released.
