Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Ok so a request for the thread :)

I'm sketching out a vid on features that have been removed from the PU etc. Have I missed any big ones?

Currently I've got stuff like:

  • Repair Drones / CryAstro
  • AI traffic (Lorville)
  • Landing HUD
  • Personal hangars / VR support
  • Scramble Races
  • The Tessa Bannister missions
  • Hover Mode (twice)

I'm not really counting features that are so broken they might as well not be there ;). Or planned removals like the Delamar planetoid.

There are definitely some grey areas though. Like, do NPC video comms just not work, or have they been switched off completely? 😁

Oh there was a whole scripted in-game "tutorial" that they couldn't be bothered to maintain

Found a video

SaltEMike spends hours setting up mining. Then gets a dumb level 3 crime stat for shooting an NPC ship that interdicted him. Then gets blown out of the sky by a player (while mining) because he now had a bounty on him. Now in jail.

None, it's just helps keep the vid viable in this case ;)

(Listing all the official removals = do-able. Listing all the broken things = impossible ;))
I'd say is viable anyway. You paid for it, it's broken now, it's removed for you. How it is removed isn't really the point and being "broken" isn't really an excuse when you market "playable now".

What happened to i-cache? The Hull BC? Land plots? Where's the procgen gone? The roads that spring from rivers? What happen to the sandworm (it was not a joke)?
You see SC is like the frog in the pot. You heat it slowly and it doesn't realise it's being cooked.

It's almost as if their system degrades over time:

Can someone explain this to me? I don't understand, it looks normal Star Citizen to me.
Monthly Reports are in.

SQ42 is still reworking 2017's tasks dutifully

And the Hull C is back on the roadmap.

2023 is nostalgia year...

(I bet 50 aUEC that the Hull C will either have a connecting pipe that's bugged to hell, or just fall off the roadmap again ;))
I skimmed through that and noticed MobiGlasses, wasn't this in Starcitizen? Why are they developing it for SQ42 when things are supposed to port over.

New HUD, what's wrong with the old HUD and why was it done that way in the first place. So much for every $ worth five times more.

Motion capturing placeholder recordings
Why? At this point why are there anymore placeholders? Just spend the money once to do the actual asset and be done with it.

Are they just making things up or are the intentionally wasting money?
CIG isn't a case for reduced publisher control, its the prime example why there SHOULD be publisher control.

Would ToW count? I mean, as briefly as it was, it was in the (evocati) PU no? 😋

I'm sticking to 'stuff that made it to live' really.

I think I'm mainly interested in the 'convincer' aspect that these things bring. Like: 'This is in, we're making progress!' etc. (And what's interesting, digging into the repair drones for example, is that they really do talk them up as a first step in a grander journey, which still hasn't happened ;))

Possibly a morality tale ;)

They've decided they can do everything five times...
