Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Set expectations to minimum...

Did the tutorial and started my first mission. What a complete and utter crap-show. Nothing worked. I eventually “landed”, only for my Freelancer to bounce around once I had exited, and explode and kill me in the process.
source

I just got a bug. My tutorial says that I still need to "Board the Cityflight Shuttle" in Area 18. I died during my first ship takeoff, and that might've broken it. Also, I don't know how to open hangar doors.
Edit: I now know how to get the shuttle doors open. Thank you all. The tutorial is still broken, though.
source

I joined and got everything up to launching my ship, where it exploded. Then the tutorial got stuck at "boarding the shuttle to the spaceport" and never was able to progress that. Out of frustration I abandoned it but it just abandoned the rest of the tutorial.
Any way to get it back? Create a new character, etc.?
source
Exacte same situation happened to me, my account is now stuck on tutorial loop after each login, even if i abandon it. [...]
I don’t know how to get out of the tutorial loop so I don’t think I have any help for you, but I was curious which step in the tutorial the game gets stuck on?
i think it is step 3 "boarding the shuttle to the spaceport" , you enter the shuttle, the shuttle bring you to space port, nothing happen, no update, no icon to follow, and worst the tutorial erase all the ships you own, you cant call any (you dont see them) and you cant abandon the mission.

I cant retrieve any ships on the Fleet Manager, then I realised there is a tutorial but its not even working ( Drink burrito and eat water) . So I went over to US server and everything suddenly works just fine or so I thought... I was on quantum travel and decided to sit on the co pilot seat and then I died.
source

I caught the game at the end of the free flight event and during tutorial the game crashed 3-4 times and it was so close to being over I decided to wait till next free flight.

It was just an observation.
"the more panic among the cult owners and followers"
Where have you observed it ? From the completely not biaised reports from this forum that compulse every bit of negative info to support a specific narrative ?
If you only get your info from here, SC should have collapsed at least 10 times.

Come back after CitizenCon to see how panicked players are about SC :sneaky:

I mean seriously, it was supposed to launch before ED, and there are solid chances that ED will shutdown servers after 10-15 years of operations before SC will get officially launched.
For sure, chance are that ED will shunt down in the next 5 years and SC continue for years after it's disparition (released or not) with a lot of players enjoying it...

You should try actually reading Spectrum and the SC subreddit occasionally Ant.

This recent, popular, uber-thread covers both themes quite extensively, for example...

Not after Citcon 2021?

🎆 Prediction of the Year - 2021 🎆

SQ42 beta end of 2021. ❌
Vulkan late this year. ❌
Second system late 2021, early 2022. ❌
iCache a huge mess at start, good tech at the end of 2021. ❌

A clear winner this year :)

Despite these being pretty cautious predictions - pitching for late delivery almost across the board - it's striking that not a single one of them made the grade.

Here's how they stack up against CIG's own predictions:

  • SQ42 beta:
    • Roadmapped for: Q2 2020.
    • Ant's Prediction: 1.5 years late.
    • Current Roadmap: N/A. (Very late...)
    • SQ42: Roadmapped for: 2014 release (and 2015, and 2016, and 2017...). Ant's Prediction: 7 years+ late. Current Roadmap: N/A (Very very late)
  • Second system:
    • Roadmapped for: 2017.
    • Ant's Prediction: 4 years+ late.
    • Current Roadmap: Q3/Q4 2022 (5 years late).

Vulkan has never been officially roadmapped. But it has been mentioned a lot:

Star Citizen announced Mantle support in 2013, DirectX 12 support in 2015, and now, Vulkan support in 2017

🎆 Better luck next year CIG! 🎆

I read Spectrum from time to time and Reddit several time each day.
Players are bored by the lack of news but everyone know that CIG keep interesting stuff for CitizenCon since a lot of months. They pass the time ranting on the forum/reddit and will come back as if nothing happened after CitizenCon (like every big "drama" on Spectrum/Reddit).

About predictions, you can remove the Icache/Repair/salvage/refuel from your list, they are released now. Keep believing that the second system, Vulkan, etc will never be released if it reassure you but they will sooner or later. And it will be great news and a big step for the game.

You want some predictions for another game where the responses are "never" ?

well unfortunately there are way more suckers than most skeptics assume. but also on the other hand, sc is practically irrelevant in the broader gaming circle at this point anyway, for example in starfield steam forum, the majority knows that sc is a joke and a scam rather than something to be taken seriously as an alternative to starfield.

"We" as players that care about the game and help new players (be reassured, not in this third party forum, no sane new player could use it to ask real questions about the game).
It is pleasant to see a link to a post about a SSD troubleshooting on the same forum presenting the SSD tip as a cheap and not solving excuse to dismiss newbies with troubles
Oh I think there are people asking real questions about the game in this forum, and have real answers to them as well. Just not the one's you'd want people to ask maybe?

A bunch of them are seeking to sell off or refund Concierge+ accounts ranging up to $10k and beyond friend.

That's why it was so easy to find scads of examples like this:

There's a disgraceful amount of refundian sentiment throughout...

I’m feeling the same here. I backed in 2017 and I’m close to 5K in my overall backing. I’m feeling less excited and not following the project as much anymore.
To put it into perspective I used to come to this Subreddit several times a day and give rewards to posts, sometimes Gold. Now I visit perhaps once or twice a week. (source)

Noticed that this guy thinking of selling his £5k of ships for 50-60%, was one of the lesser streaming regulars:

Honestly, I know I should be used to it, but some of the numbers bandied around in this latest kerfuffle are just nuts...

You are free to believe this is a usual part of the pre-Citcon cycle. But it clearly isn't. The rollercoaster is dipping a fair bit more than usual at the mo ¯\(ツ)/¯
