Aged like fine milk

Nah. Most games have a huge peak viewership at release and then wind down. SC peak when it released in early access back in 2016 was probably not more than a couple thousands I suspect, compared to hundred thousands for SF when it released in early access early September. I d say that one order of magnitude more than SC is a still a huge difference.

Either way the comment ridiculing CIG´s PR is still very much accurate and is aging as a great wine:

I mean, it´s cheap but great PR as it de facto asumes and tries to signal that SC is a Starfield peer, comparable at the same level.

Star Citizen is far from being the Star Field peer CIG wants it to be, not only because of an order of magnitude higher Twitch views but also simply because of:

a) Unit sales

- Star Field has 6 million units sold in less than a week.

- Star Citizen barely had around 1.8 backer (paying) accounts at the end of 2022, 10 years after Kickstarter and 6 years after release in early access.

b) Reviews

Hopefully that helps put things in perspective?

I think you already posted this.
Same reasons than before, one is released, the other not.
A not released game with 10% viewers of a big AAA released game after only 12 days is a really good news for SC. Players are coming back to SC after having tested the last SC killer

SC is already released though. And it does not have much to do with how you feel about it, it is CIG who stated SC is already released. Suggest you talk to them in case you have any doubts?
If you think so, it must be true ! Why there is no thousands of reviews by players on Metacritic ? And no matter how many times I click on refresh, there's still no review from the press ;)

You should say it to metacritic, they seem to not understand it...

Have you see the amount of Starfield content Youtube? I don't think Star Citizen managed in 11 years what Starfield produced in 11 days.

As sourced and linked above, it is not me but CIG who says SC is released 🤷‍♂️ It´s quite simple really.

As for reviews, some games have more than others. In the case of SC, there are several reasons why reviews are limited: CIG has been, and still is, bamboozling the market with vague terms such as "alpha" and crowdfund whereas Star Citizen has ceased to be a fully crowdfunded project long time ago when it was released (in early access) around 2016 as per CIG own statements. Also, SC after that release still happens to be so buggy, incomplete and crappy that I suspect it does not even deserve the attention of many score reviewers. This is as best as SC can get these days:

Can't blame Metacritic far being confused about SC's state. SC certainly is...

Doesn't really change the views shared there over recent months though ;)

So much lol in the Post-Mortem already, but think you'll get a kick out of this V ;)

"...but it comes down to us truly committing to preserving the experience for the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, who now play Star Citizen as a live service game, albeit an alpha still in development."

Heh, well, at December 2022, according to Chris himself it was actually "over 1 million unique players" who logged during 2022. So even if it was 1.000001 millions over the whole year, assuming you believe Chris, that statement is technically correct (and that is being generous as many players have multiple paying accounts).

As for the "live service game still in development", well indeed, much like many games out there that are a live service and are still being developed in many ways. In fact many games that are considered as "games as a service" are constantly being developed. It´s part of the service. SC is one more released game, and being developed, among many. SC just happens to be much crappier than most.

Ok some other fave PES quotes from the latest absolvement text...

We learned a lot from the launch of PES, and while we are still recovering...

...features not thought to use persistence at all became affected by trivial delays (like tram systems, spawn queues, and others).

...In the engine, several shards reached previously unknown hard limits of the maximum number of allocated entities, forcing the teams to seed/create new shards and cycle them out, diluting the effect of persistence on those shards.

So, is there a top hat universe? 😁

Going forward, we’ll finalize and use the new Cloud Test Launcher to adequately stress test the game shards at scale. This tool will simulate player behaviors and allow QA and the engineers to connect multiple modified game clients to the shard. By utilizing cloud computing resources, effective stress testing can be conducted, which will help identify and address issues relating to heavily loaded servers before moving to Live.

Chrissy's cloud dreams are coming true. And simulated clients eh? Well it worked well for Dual Universe...

The team responsible for PES has now moved onto Static Server Meshing and are embracing a transformation approach to the new project. Unlike PES, this foundational technology can be integrated into the codebase gradually, avoiding a disruptive "Big Bang" approach. Parts of the Server Meshing tech are already available to the game team for testing compatibility with their game features. Combined with the Cloud Test Launcher, this approach aims to facilitate a smoother integration process for Static Server Meshing.

By implementing these measures, we aim to enhance our testing capabilities and mitigate integration challenges, ensuring smoother delivery of foundational technologies while minimizing disruption to the game.

These quotes absolutely won't come back to bite them ;)

Plus loads of other stuff and guff. The Replication Layer only just being split off from single servers now. Rivers actually needing to be 'meticulously placed' after all. Raster breaking performance and the shops at Jump Town. Salvage missions scuppered by the lack of 'gold standard' ships that had all the features working. The Fury MX needing bespoke missile racks so it wouldn't blow its own wings off. All that good stuff ;)

Well no worries it's not a conspiracy and yes sometimes actually does not work properlly it's probably because a lot of people trying to give it their review of the game but if you are persistent you could see it .....

And yeah score it's not that great and I could probably agree with this...'tho even this score is more than 2x better then SC.....

The screenshot is about SC that don't have scores values because Metacritic don't allow scores on games not released yet.
