Don't ignore the warnings as I did, it was worse than the rumours suggested

Pros
- Salary is competitive - A lot of talented young developers
Cons
- Lack of structure and process. - Telepathy required. You will go months before your work is seen, and in that time leads will expect you to have read their minds. Getting time with them is near impossible. - Eternal crunch culture, anyone only working core hours will be treated with hostility. - Contradictory feedback from leads and directors. You may be reprimanded for actioning feedback by the very same person who gave it to you. - Plagued with internal politics. - Some department leads are very bullish, which I feel has contributed to the loss of structure. - High turnover, and they really couldn't care less about retaining staff. They favour pushing staff out over addressing any concerns. Much of the visible spending is directed towards building a shiny office to attract staff, rather than keeping the team they have. - HR are virtually absent. - The CEO is unapproachable and treats anyone below the leadership team as his subjects. He will refuse to speak to you directly when stood a meter away, and instead tell your lead, who will then speak to you.
Advice to Management
- Find a way to get rid of toxic & bullish members of the leadership team. - Gain some perspective on what really matters. Stop building a silly spaceship interior office and direct funding to retaining your staff and keeping them happy. - Listen to staff - they know the product. I didn't see one internal Q&A, company wide playtest, etc.

Pros
Office in Manchester is nice and there are some seriously talented people here. Project is very big so a lot to work on and plenty of chances to gain experience.
Cons
Directors are out of control with no clear direction. Overtime is common here. They do not care about mental health here or your need to have a personal life.
Advice to Management
Treat your staff better with far more compassion.
Ok I finally managed to get in and play for a while.....game it's really buggy and mostly broken 'tho there was few positive things for example that Drake Corsair Ship that CIG give us for test-flight looking good inside(for my taste) and surprisingly I could feel some mass while flying compared to my small origin 315p that is much more nimble at least that part seems better than before.....now game performance is all around the place on my 6700XT/1440p/High/Med sometimes even going bellow 20FPS and sometimes in space or on the planet where there are not much to see could go all the way up to the 50-60FPS.....I will try to play more tomorrow but so far I was definitely not impressed with 3.20....I tried 3.20 quickly out of curiosity today. Performance was poor. "inner thought" inventory system was not willing to let go of items. Lift was broken. Train was broken. Then once I got a working train, its movement was broken (lag, jerky movements) and its engine sound was broken. All NPC were broken, standing half embedded in furniture and not even moving. Ship terminal did deliver ship but.. it exploded. End of 3.20 for me.

A wise move.I haven't even bothered updating the client![]()
Look at those responses. Yeah, the 86 upvotes is good, but even with someone dropping $500 for a broken ship, there are jerkfaces in the emoticon comments mocking them for pointing out game breaking issues. It's absurd. Also seems like Hull C is a lot of fun.......

And yeah apparently majority of citizens have the same Player unstowed and error 30009 problem.....CIG servers are in total collapse.......
I 'member when F.E.A.R. released almost 20 years ago and people were hyped for what the future of gaming would look like. Yet its interactive environments still look revolutionary today. Crysis is in that boat, too.
I played Red Faction shortly after it came out, 2001, amazing what they could do back then......oh well!I 'member when F.E.A.R. released almost 20 years ago and people were hyped for what the future of gaming would look like. I think I messed up my save once by destroying too much and bringing the game world to a state that prevented me from progressingI played Red Faction shortly after it came out, 2001, amazing what they could do back then......oh well!

Yeah when they released that glass house demo for the game I spent days building tunnels and stairs with a rocket launcher and getting a feel for the edges of what they could do. Really impressive code. Yet in 2023 we're back to chain link fences that can stop space ships.I played Red Faction shortly after it came out, 2001, amazing what they could do back then......oh well!
