CIG face devastating £150 fine if they don't muster their accounts by the 31st...

So nada special. But it is weird that they always file so late.

(Takes time to percolate all that mystery foreign revenue maybe).
The deadline's already passed (midnight on 31st December 2023). As it has for all five UK entities, so all will receive fines for late filing submission:
CIG Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08703814
CI UK Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08815227
RSI International Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08882924
CI Rights Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10934694
Gemini 42 Productions Ltd https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14011339

Additionally, the filings for the first four of those companies were also late last year, incurring the associated fines.

Plus being late two years in a row means they'll be flagged for an audit by HMRC.

Oh whoops yep!

Oh juicy. That seems like something they might prefer to avoid. (What with all those tax credits for a famously delayed game and that, for a start ;)).

(Not seeing that in the official wrist-slaps. How'd you hear tell of that?)

E: Didn't realise there are potentially criminal charges/fines on top of the CH fines. Makes it all the odder that they're so tardy.

Being flagged for an audit doesn't necessarily mean HMRC will conduct one - it's dependent on HMRC's available resources as it involves a number of their auditors for a few weeks (during which the company can be asked to freeze operations).

An accountancy firm has been a client of mine for close to two decades now; it's part of their warnings to their clients "if you're going to be late with your filing it's okay to do once, just file and pay the fine. But definitely be on time next year, or better yet be early; you don't want the audit risks."

So it seems CIG are outsourcing some character assets at the mo. An Armenian contractor has been showing off some stuff over the last 4 months:

We're thrilled to unveil the incredible cast of characters we've created for Star Citizen, the epic space adventure developed by Cloud Imperium. Working with such a talented team has been an amazing journey.

Everytime a new asset must be made, they have to hire a new contractor as all the others are busy refactoring the assets they're in charge of for the nth time.
Extra Exponential Extraordinary. Euler must be happy.

Anyone know when these math illustrations are crap? You know the Fibonacci series? Dry stuff. But it can be illustrated by example animal procreation. Rabbitses having offspring of which each needs a year to mature before they can have offspring can simulate the Fibonacci series, maybe that's why we see related symptoms of the Foccacci in nature.
