Fun was had, or so I read.
We had a CIG team on our server group. We tried starting 7 times before we were able to all connect and get loaded into the game.
It was fun to see their reports of how they were working with their friends/co-workers behind the scenes and tweaking things to see if they could get the servers running.
Pulling that much information from the PES storage and loading onto the DGS all at once isn't how the systems were made.
Additionally, MOST of us were all staged on Seraphim Station. That means there weren't enough HAB beds for us all to log into. I'm sure people waiting around for a bed to open up just sort of complicated the issues.
What was strange was that everyone thing was cool right up until the 'second restart.' Everyone started moving and the server just tanked very hard, and very suddenly. It actually held up on this 'not happy/not useful' state for everyone to make it about 50km, and then it went 'poof.'
