Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

CIG = CIoud Imperium Greed lol.

The " almost all the money gets spent on development" is misleading, because Chris Roberts and top staff get overpaid for the subpar mismanagement of SC. Chris Roberts, Erin Roberts, Sandi Roberts, Ortwin Freyermuth and co. are co-owners of the video game company Cloud Imperium Games. Their shares are worth millions of dollars until too many people lose faith and development implodes. Before that happens, CR and co would sell their shares. So when Chris Roberts announces that he will step back or leave the project, that is when things get really bad.

Don't forget, they created another company that owns the IP rights to SC, and CIG pays a monthly license fee to use the IP in the game's "development", so they're dipping twice, or more, into the money coming in through various entities in a number of shady ways.

It's CIG alllllll the way down.

I've learned more about how to launder money from following Star Citizen's development than I ever cared to know.

No! Better idea!

Chris, Sandi, Ortwin, and Erin all sell their own shares at different tiers!

An Ortwin share comes with a small amount of UEC as well and is a Bronze level share.

An Erin share comes with $10 of store credit and is a Silver level share.

A Sandi share comes with exclusive access to the "Pusher" skin for your character and is a Gold level share.

Chris shares have to bought in bulk of 1000 and come with a "Free" completionist pack, and is a Platinum level share.
No bathwater? No deal. 😛

Where are you seeing those payments?

Here's the last filing for the main UK arm, cited by their UK 'rights' spin off etc.

Like, this stuff really isn't my bag, but I can't see any monthly / annual IP payments referenced overtly there.

(If anything Cloud Imperium Rights seems to be running at a loss, but I imagine that's standard shell games).

German Magician at work?

Streamer: I saw you fly.

MagicGerman: I'm flying through the station right now. Now I'm screwed somewhere.
