As if scope creep in one game isn't enough?Holy crap, they also copyrighted an MMO name in June:
'SOULSINGER'
Is Tony Z going to emerge from the woods?![]()

Nooooo....Stu has been digging...
Ortwin's retirement / golden yacht membership pretty much confirmed...
Makes me think they Calders aren't eyeing the Q1 2025 lever then. (Unless they can cream that extra 6% off? And think CIG are good for it?)
Could make sense for any 2028 level pull though? IE more for the 3yr multiplier etc.
On the face of it though, they're still nesting with the golden goose. And ignoring the weirdly-shaped eggs![]()
Nooooo....
In my upcoming crowdfunded show Clown Imperium, the character "Ortmuth" was going to lead the legal team in battle against Uppity Backers.
I pictured him as an Uberwaldian Lawyer. A bit pale and lurking in the shadows.
I've got to rework the whole script now.
I would be extremely surprised if Ortwin got 20 $ million+, and the Calders let that go without any kind of challenge and, according to CIG public info, without any kind of returns to their 60 mill investment for over 6 years. Extremely surprised.Stu has been digging...

They'll need a few years to build a studio for the new game first. Then they're going to need to learn how to use Unreal Engine, because you know CIG had been eyeing the new candy in the competing engine they can't switch Star Citizen to.Yay another eternal broken tier-0 alpha that'll help keep the other one further away from any sort of non-broken tier-0 mess!
This is good for SC.
Buy a Neadryss (legendary creature you'll be able to ride on soon)
Good use of SC players sales money! We get to see how long Soulsinger is allowed on Spectrum - tick tock tick tock

So we have something new coming? - Star Citizen Spectrum
Searching the internet and noticed a new trademark was requested by CIG. Do we have something new coming?????robertsspaceindustries.com
In that scenario the $$$ would have come from the Calders themselves though right? IE they would have bought the shares of Ortwin primarily (as they've ended up the majority of his shares etc).
Like Stu I'd be amazed if he got the past rate for the shares though.
(I'm surprised enough that the Calders wanted to amass any more)
I wonder if they're registering the games they're adding to the arcade machines.
EDIT: The primary 'nowt to see' response is that: Because Star Engine is tagged the same way, it must just be some new undisclosed tech...
Follow up posts will be removed as technically Soul Slinger isn't affiliated with Star Citizen / SQ42 (that we know of) outside of the developer.
If they make another game from star citizens development resources, I will get a "Derek Smart was right" tattoo and sell my account for charity.
But at least they have a green sky box now
... so they've got that going for them.
According to most hardcore fans, CIG never promised a realistic universe, hence the green nebula - and it's great! (no joke, that's what I've been told when I asked about it and someone dared to say they didn't quite like it)That's the portal to the fantasy MMO...
Soul Singer is actually CIG's marketing methodology. They're going to patent and sell the secrets of raising hundreds of millions without providing a functional product. Something that Ubisoft has been trying for years without success.
