I'm not diving on them, knives out, but I'd wager the 'Blueprints' in some form will get pushed out.Ok it's time to lay down bets. With no SQ42 release funds imminent, what will CIG put on sale during 2024/2025:
- Land claims
- Blueprints [including exclusive space station extras]
- Space Stations
- The Bengal
- SQ42 pre-orders
I'm gonna go for: All of the above![]()

Land Claims are probably already at saturation, SQ42 Preorders likewise (although there probably is a lot of folk like me who are waiting for it to actually release before buying it).
Bengal is probably not going to be put on sale, unless I've missed a massive change (remembering I dont have youtube, certain websites, and also don't research star citizen on a daily basis) in how they're intending on including them in the 'verse.
Although anyone who'd want a Bengal will probably have already preordered the Kraken, which seems to actually be a carrier/group hub, rather than a Battlestar-lite ship.
Another betting game that can be interesting is, will the Calders pull the trigger of their shares put option this 2025 Q1 or not?![]()
Should SQ42 preorders be live again, I bet they'd make their decision pretty quick.Another betting game that can be interesting is, will the Calders pull the trigger of their shares put option this 2025 Q1 or not?![]()
So Terra is at (0,0), Pyro at (123124124112,2354354533) and Stanton at (-12413541355,5003432234)? (example from top down)
Oh god, it's elevator tech. Everybody RUN!
I was part of it to, I backed very early on then pulled out a while later.
good to hear recent confirmation that VR will still be supported!, and 4.0 finally in evocati testing.... i think i will install 4.0 and try it out, its been a while since i played it and it has come on massively since i last played. (but only for a few hrs... like elite , i only dabbled pre release but its nice to have a look)A lot more proc gen planets just got waved around. I reckon they can find room for land sales. (Plus the leak gossip is that they intend to start them much smaller this time, then whack up the charges for expanding plots).
Bengal is another of those 'red line / SQ42 only / will never sell' ones that I just think would be a real canary in the coalmine moment. (They've gone through all the others: F8A, F7A etc). So a baseline has been set where it could happen. And they dangled it heavily during the 'end game stations can craft capital ships' finale...

(Plus they're got the model 'advertising ready', as it's all needed for SQ42 etc. I'm just not sure they can resist selling it, no matter how dysfunctional it'd be in the PU...)
I think they did, but 2024 and no Tier 0 implementation of it even though it should be one of the foundations they put into code. Imagine how many things they'll have to redo if they ever implement asset sharing even later down the line.IIRC, haven't CiG in the past said they're aiming on having Org-shared assets?

It’s all a bit silly. Since we have seen that moving from Stanton to Pyro or viceversa triggers a full system data loading and there is zero gameplay interaction between systems there is in practice zero distinction between having a single coordinates system or separate onesThey best not be using the transit system for this...

i am not gonna argue either way... but my hope is it will happen, i know its not on UE, however the UE VR injector really shows how easy it has been to inject really good VR support into games on unreal engine and that is without access to the source code.Means less than nothing I'm afraid M...

I could see them getting some 'alpha tier' support in for a bit (before it breaks again a year down the line). But they'll never adapt the game to it in a meaningful way, or hit the performance levels it'd need. It'd be jankorama at best.
(But if they do ever get some hacky 'official' support in for a bit I'll def go jank around in a freefly)
Yeah, if they can do it all on one map then it would have been even cooler to just put the Pyro star & planets in space with Stanton and quantum over (like a multi-star system in ED).It’s all a bit silly. Jump gates are cool but they are needed to hide the system loading too. Even in the scenario you outline with all systems in a multi-star system there is no PC ram to hold them all. At some point you are going to need an unloading and loading of new star system data. Jump gates are as gods as any other good old loading screen, interactive or not.Yeah, if they can do it all on one map then it would have been even cooler to just put the Pyro star & planets in space with Stanton and quantum over (like a multi-star system in ED).
Having a single massive play-space would be more impressive than jump gates IMHO, especially now they're only going for 5 systems.
But Chris thinks jump gates are cool, so ...
Wonkahole. They best not be using the transit system for this...

They said it's a mega map. Which (if they can get mashing working) can be true. The jump gates are just Chris not having a vision - same reason they have elevators and trams for loading screens also aren't required except to make Chris happy.Jump gates are cool but they are needed to hide the system loading too. Mega map in the sense they say they have a unique center of coordinates (much like Elite does), that is all. There is no gameplay interaction between star systems (much like in Elite). From your client perspective you are just going to have to suffer loading screens between those systems, interactive loading screens or not, wormhole or not. Which means there is no practical difference for SC players between a unique center of coordinates or multiple ones. They said it's a mega map. Which (if they can get mashing working) can be true. On 4.0:The dev talked about roads to connect 2 cities biomes separated by other biomes.
Malic plays SC on VR now, using vorpx I believe. As much as vorpx is real vr. Malic seems to be happy with it from the little I've seen, but it's probably somewhat of a faff to get it working.i am not gonna argue either way... but my hope is it will happen, i know its not on UE, however the UE VR injector really shows how easy it has been to inject really good VR support into games on unreal engine and that is without access to the source code.
i can only hope developers who understand cryengine (or star engine or what ever they call it now) can manage it for that as well. I do have sympathy for the original rift coding getting ripped out. i was playing in VR in the module at the time...... it was Oculus who broke it, they completely changed how VR worked and pushed an update out which broke a whole load of vr supported games, many of which never got support back (offiically at least).
bottom line, if it goes in but runs like a dog.......... well if any game would persuade me to upgrade to the latest 080 or 090 nvidia gpu and a new gaming CPU... star citizen could be it, because god knows, nothing else is out there encouraging it at the moment (my understanding is the MS2024 requirements if anything are less than MS2020 so am already covered there)... PC gaming is in a pretty dire spot at the moment in general imo.
TLDR
fingers crossed it happens, hope dies late i guess![]()
