Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I'm loving the backwash of up coming tech for Light No Fire being early deployed and retro fitted to NMS.

Got to say Hello Games are a bunch of hoopy froods who really know where thier towels are.... and seemingly a thing or two about how to build, deliver and support games.

So, back to the OP. When's SQ42 coming out? And, is it a full decade overdue yet?

Don't Panic!
;)

I went off survival games for a good while, but from the little i've seen of it, my interest is piqued.

That CIG dev interestingly shows they are trying to use logic that can only apply to games that reasonably work.

As Dtox/Xero note SC doesn’t work, which makes CIG development priority logic broken to start with. It is a scary case of CIG either believing their own gaslighting or shamelessly burrowing their head under the sand. Either way, boned.

You nailed it!

Goes along with Tyrer complaining about players using the retrieve/claim of undestroyed ships too often.

Or banning players using duping bugs.

They're so deep in the marketing overconfident self-reassuring bullwaste they contractually have to do for marketing, they end believing it.

Also, as Camural says, they probably don't play their own game, or at least not in the real public environments and conditions (but I highly doubt they have a magical build running flawlessly in their local network.

If only they had a QA department... 😏

Selling everything in the Cash Shop is not mainstream. No Sir. These space cadets are on another level

CIG pitched a revolutionary game with technology that had never been done in an MMO space sim and full immersion for all these beautiful ships where every detail mattered. This has always been an insane vision that could only be accomplished by spending insane amounts of money. The fact that they have gotten this far is an incredible achievement. And yes, they have gotten this far by broadening the pool of backers beyond the small number of dudes who want to sit there with a 100 page manual to learn how to correctly press 50 buttons before they can do anything.

And yet, in CIG's pitch, they said they could do it for 5.5 million, then later 65 million, and here we are, at over 800 million.

Something tells me CIG didn't and still doesn't have a clue.

Oh, this gave me a chuckle:

The pitch was exceptional, the funding was more than exceptional, the promises were even more exceptional than that.... The actual game has always been a dumpster fire

What promises? There haven't been any. Everything was heavily qualified talk about intentions.

LOL, decides to quibble about the word "promises", fails to defend against the dumpster fire accusation.

Interesting point in the comments I hadn't thought through every time Mike said 'the end goal is crafting / blueprints':

People are buying stuff with $$$ because they want it without playing the game - CiGs plan to (eventually) be able to craft the item in-game seems to think they will want to play the game to get their stuff back - that's not how P2W peeps think.
