Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

He's on an English speaking forum so he has to be prepared to make mistakes. I think overall we are generally very supportive of his attempts at English and i've praised his English several times. Is he being intentionally misleading, just biased in his understanding of things, or is it just problems with English?

Can't say for sure, but considering his posting history, i'm strongly on the skeptical side in relation the reason for his errors and if he were to post in French, i suspect we would see exactly the same statements.

Remember, it wasn't long ago that he tried to claim Vulkan was almost ready for release, until, with very bad timing for LA, CIG almost simultaneously made a post saying it was nowhere near ready for release.

On the other hand, maybe its not so much his output that is the issue, but his input. Maybe he doesn't always understand what CIG are saying, or maybe he's listening to other people who make incorrect statements and he believes them. I think most of us have been in this position, where we accepted something as truth from a third party that turned out to be false, or we read some output from CIG and took it to mean one thing and it actually meant something else.

I mean, some of us took Answer the Call 2014 to mean CIG would release something in 2014, and oh boy, did we have egg on our faces!

The French are perfectly able to articulate precise statements in English and you can very much expect them to do so on this forum too.

Thanks for the heads up. I will cease to cut any slack for posters that are obviously not native english speakers and bash anything posted that is less than articulate and precise. Cheers!

And there's this: https://www.theguardian.com/science...rch-humanbehaviour?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
So perhaps we simultaneously lose and don't lose most of our body heat through our heads?
As much as I like to believe what the nice scientists tell me...and I have like 3 feet of hair on my head...I'm still wearing a hat when it's cold :D

Went over to spectrum and /r/starcitizen to see if anyone was mentioning the new Odyssey trailer. Didn't see anything, but found some fun threads on Spectrum.

I'll remove the http parts so they don't get parsed and pad out the post.

Top comment:

Gave me a good chuckle, the way some backers love to pick out features that ED doesn't when comparing SC while ignoring everything that ED has that SC doesn't.

Another comment couldn't have had worse timing

Got to chuckle.

As usual, people coming up with more ideas how CIG can spend their time on completely unnecessary and stupid things

robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/using-star-citizen-as-a-bookshop

A thread mentioning CIG's shows and its noted how there are less shows now

robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/enjoy-the-break

Umm.... were not subscriptions meant to fund those shows? That was the point of subscriptions right? So, where is the subscription money going now?

And finally, a thread asking if people still believe in iCache and Pyro coming soon.

robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/who-still-believes-in-pyro-and-icache-in-3-12

One backer probably hit the nail on the head.

Reminds me of ED and the vertical slice excuses people gave.
Two posts so far, both correctly nuked by mods for being off-topic

Never played Warcraft either strangely enough...I only really got into RPG's (MMO or otherwise) when Bethesda released Morrowind GOTY edition on the original Xbox...then Oblivion as a release title with the Xbox 360.

Up until that point, my exposure to RPG's was limited to 3d isometric things like A Bard's tale or the Baldur's gate series during the 90's on PC. I was a division 1 Tribes 2 player with my clan back then so team based FPS shooters were my thing... when I used to have reflexes and hand/eye coordination. :D

Baldur's gate especially was real fun to play in a LAN party :)
I went back to school for software development after leaving another career, and founded an IT club where with a bit of instructor help getting equipment, we organized on-campus lan parties not on the school lan. Was fun figuring out the router and switch setups with a real-world goal in mind.

I went through shooters from Doom up through Tribes2 pretty OK, but then my fragging skills started lagging, as did my available game time.

FPS reflexes are kind of crap now.

Yes! I have cancelled all other appointments and have a dedicated stock of USB keyboards to wear the F5 keys out on whilst I eagerly await the delta patcher to do it's thing - and finally bring us the unabridged masterpiece that is SQ42 in it's full unveiled glory.
Did this happen?
Did I miss it?

Go for your dream!

All you need is a City and Guilds in something vaguely computer related and you too can be a senior developer!
all the money raised goes to develop the game.
And space doors, $15,000 airplane wing desks, $20,000 coffee machines, baristas, personal chefs, . . . custom swag for the team . . .

[If anyone deserves some SC cash it is artists and coders. This guy Tyler, who played Sq42 all the way through, that was him, right? not so much.]
