Was just checking out Kickstarter's rules.

Rule number 1

Ooops! Looks like CIG forgot about that one.

I think it has been pretty much clear cut for a long time that CIG did indeed not fulfill some key KS terms with backers, namely a delivery by the estimated time. For the most part any kickstarter backer that asks for a refund will most likely get it still today I presume. Thing is KS backer amounts are but a droplet in the sea of the total funds to date.

What does the above mean ?
Edit ''an accomplice of a confidence trickster or swindler who poses as a genuine customer to entice or encourage others.''
Still none the wiser am I ?
Edit 2 O I C what you mean, nope not trying to entice others, just posting on topic of this thread.

ah, you must not have really followed this thread.

common belief that it is not possible to have fun playing star citizen. or more hilariously, that "fun" is not a good way to judge a leisure activity.

At the risk of further straying from the norm, did anyone see last weeks episode of the Mandalorian?

The interior of the Gozanti felt very Star Citizen to me.

Consider CR's ideas of alien races, straight out of Flash Gordon.

Not only content with adding the K'zin... erm, i mean the Kilrathi in Wing Commander in SC he has the following races.

Aka:

Anthormorphic lizard men, bird men, rock men, and turtle men.

Tbf to him, I havent seen a race that differentiates from tired tropes for a oong time in any sci-fi, with the exception of the Vorlon in B5... and how long ago was that?

Man, I feel old.

C’monnn. As a total thread denizen, and the official poster of SC fun vids, you know full well nobody has said that here for years. It is totally acknowledged that players can have fun in SC.

It’s just also pointed out that pigs can have fun rolling around in... their own dirty sandbox. And that certain players having fun doesn’t do the ole absolvey wavy hand trick on the project’s more glaring faults. (Or make the players who are righteously hacked off with it any less displeased...)

or more hilariously, that "fun" is not a good way to judge a leisure activity.

Don’t remember anyone saying that in isolation either. Seems more likely it was part of the same 'one person’s fun doesn’t excuse the rest being left on their bum' context as above.

Just because spending a grand to get stuck in a lift doesn’t bother you, doesn’t mean everyone feels the same way ;)

I'd guess there's a high correlation between backing-level and enjoyment. Having a stack of pre-bought ships and currency would make having random Star Citizen fun with friends much easy to do.

Grinding up through the bugs and instability from a starter Aurora or Mustang to then own many of the ships wouldn't be fun for anyone. Both SaltEMike and AstroPub have tried to do that on-stream, and both gave up.

As for almost unique Sci-fi movie alien types, one of my favourites was from a 2014 Tom Cruise film...Live, die, repeat (Edge of tomorrow). A surprisingly good film too, I really enjoyed it. Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

For sure. But definitely diminishing returns. I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to "play" with just an Aurora or Mustang.

But the only ships I've been using lately are the $75 Arrow, $90 Gladius, and $120 Hornet Ghost. And would be fine just using one of them. Although more fun to break it up and get to fly different things between the 3.
