Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Turbulent don't seem to think so either...reveals that work on Pyro won't be started until well into next year...if at all ;)

Sounds like one producer had it at work starting Q1 on (it was the Lead Artist who was thinking more Q4). (And Lando had it at '80% done' etc). But yeah, another year, another missing Pyro dawn ;)

Love the bit about the Javelin crash site being just a 'movie set' that fell apart if you looked at it too hard ;). Never meant to be a functioning asset etc.

It's yet another case of predatory marketing misleading backers which is catching out the devs on live shows. They have no idea what the marketing snakes have told any of us so they're constantly threading a minefield as to what they can and can't talk about.

Disco Hobo did his finest effort at a smoke and mirrors misdirection of course, explaining to all of us peasants that game development is hard, yo!...That's his job after all.
'Open' development at it's finest...where the only open thing about Star Citizen's development is the constant begging for money to expand the Empire of Roberts :)

I had a serious bit of deja-vu when the bearded buffoon started harping on about the up-coming road to 4.0...thought I had taken the blue pill and ended up back in 2016...which is utterly ridiculous when you think on it. A further six years of development with a half a billion bucks of funding to get back to almost the same point the project was supposedly at before 3.0 arrived. Someone had better phone the idiot Roberts and tell him we're due another sandwurmie video

Just found this beauty: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Add-Ons/Engineering-Manual-For-Modders-Digital

Note this small print: "Note: This is a pre-order and won’t be available until closer to game launch."

This is a non-existent modding guide in PDF for Star Citizen - an 12-year old alpha that cannot be modded at all. FOR TWELVE DOLLARS.

Wow. I um... I don't really know what else to write, there is nothing more to say I think :poop:

You've really got to admire the brazenness of it all.

I wonder how many backers have actually bought this.

Doesn't even make the top 10 of most blatant scams on the CIG store.

That particular item has been on pre-order since 2012 when modding was first announced. Along with drop in drop out cop-op multiplayer, Linux support and private servers. 🤭

Heh, if only. Your mind will really be blown when you see the list of ships that (using your own words) are also "non-existent, only in JPG, for Star Citizen - an 12-year old alpha that does not have most of the mechanics or features required of those ships anyways (science, info running exploration, base building, modularity etc etc). Some of them for THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS:

As @Agony_Aunt says: "You've really got to admire the brazenness of it all. I wonder how many backers have actually bought this."

Or when you see the list of star systems that are also "non-existent, only in text articles, for Star Citizen - an 12-year old alpha that does not have any of the assets, cities, settlements, stations, gameplay or content to fill those in anyways:
