I was one of the first backers and backed it to the tune of $35k, and I feel like they've wasted my money, and I have every right to say as much. Those of us who were there from the beginning know exactly when and where everything went wrong with this project. Being in software development myself it's no mystery to me why SC failed. It was obvious back in 2014-15 already. CR was pumping most of the money and dev time into demos that would be discarded after every fundraising event, instead of working on core tech to power the game. Since the very beginning this whole project was just a smoke and mirrors show to create an illusion of progress to drive more ship sales, rather than to deliver actual progress. They never had any idea how to do proper backend architecture and networking to handle the user loads required and stuck to a game engine that wasn't suitable for the intended scope of the game. This game will not have 100 systems or a world that was promised even in 2030, no way, no how, that's just a fact of life, but there'll be new shills then who'll say "just wait till 2031". That's how SC works.
Here some, free of charge:That’s, that’s, <splutters>
I have no words.
Ha ha haEven the game can't believe its already 2023.
Look at the Daymar rally if you want to know how they deal with this problem.
The next one is this week with hundred of participants.
Race tracks exists in game since a lot of time and PvP is not a real problem for racers...
EDIT : and if you want 0 pvp and a perfect clean track, Arena Commander is there for you
Genuinely just spat my brew outEven the game can't believe its already 2023.
I have had a lot of fun at the daymar rally!
what was that guys name from one of the first times they held race (might have been the first one)? His vehicle got blown up and he ran on foot for hours trying to get to the finish line? Eventually one of the good guys found and killed him before he could do it....
Oh my, it's road to 4.0 again... We'll eventually have 3.18 but after 3.17.18, unless we get 3.17.17.1 first
Well after all, their game dev is all about going off at tangents.[asymptotic] progress!
