I dunno man, seems par for the course for "the alpha getting better and betterer". Just more of the same piling on of broken stuff and mediocrity on top of broken stuff and mediocrity. So, ready for live I say.

Known Issues changes, 3.18av -> 3.18aw:
Added:
  • ASOP Terminals are unusable and fade to black when accessed
  • Cargo may be invisible in multiple ships after being purchased
  • Combat Service Beacon Progress / Rating inconsistent on missions
  • Game clients may close without error or crash handler
  • Harvestable Deposits may be invisible to players, cause collisions or become unavailable for scanning, mining or salvage gameplay
  • PTV wheels at the Orison BTR area can clip into geometry and become detached from vehicle
  • Security Contractor Evaluation is not re-offered upon failure
  • Security Work Assesment Remaining Hostile NPCs Not Spawning In
  • The Trams are out of sync with the station timers, causing trams to overlap or not appear on time
  • When attempting to start a refinery job, players receive the following error ; Something went wrong (Error code: 20)

They also note all the removed known issues, which are now unknown issues...

Bug Fixes​

  • Fixed - Antares - Vehicles - Stanton - The quantum dampener produces VFX/SFX but does not function
  • Fixed - Vehicles / Ship Components - Flair Items shown as available in Inventory are missing in Loadout Manager
  • Fixed - Character Customizer - After returning to menu/relaunch into game, character customizer will open

Two fixes for the new ship on sale, one fix for the alpha...

Sounds about right.
 
Wait... This bug affects one ship at a certain location? Wouldn't this kind of features be agnostic of the vehicle and even more the location?!

That was only seven years ago. It takes time to build up a multitude of corporate entities dedicated to AAAA^A production levels of two groundbreaking space games. He clearly meant he played out playing those levels role playing as QA, as development clearly doesn’t start until Beta stage, and we are still heavily in Alpha hand waving.

If you understood game development this would be obvious.

Buying an Idris will bring enlightenment.

Alpha´s getting better and betterer!


Let me paint this picture for you...

Me and My org mates are eager to try out the new patch that we've been waiting for now since their original release in Oct..and then again in Dec, and now supposedly tomorrow...

We take out a Reclaimer since this patch is supposed to focus on Salvaging, crazy right? Instant issues...
- We take off from Orison, and warp to our first location to find wrecks, crew members are manning the turrets and the salvage turrets ready for a fight if needed. Come to find out, every single one of us is now locked into our chairs. None of us can exit the seats or terminals. So, we all quit to a new server.
-New server, same crew new ship. Recall a different reclaimer. We all load up, fly out of Atmo, and same issue, this time we left one person off the controls just in case. The only fix we find to let us off the terminals is to have them punch us unconscious and then when we revive we are off the controls.
-Ok this is frustrating but doable
- We pull up to our first wreck, start working and come to find out the cargo elevator now doesn't work. stranding 2 of our guys downstairs locked in the ship... "Part of the Crew, Part of the ship"
-We say F' it and Alt f4 out
-Rejoin the new server, and Regroup up to run some bunkers.
-Elevators broken, Dsync SO bad that there are entire minutes of missing mobs, player characters and complete chaos ensues considering you will be running around 1 min and other next 6 enemies pop up in front of you and kill you because you cant see them
-At this point, the morale is low after spending nearly 4 hours and accomplishing nothing
-We regroup on a new server again, Proceeding to board the tram to the spaceport, at which time I keel over dead with out taking any damage or collision.


I had high hopes and actually defended CIG for the long delay siting all the normal stuff. "Its an alpha, its a test, They need more time to make it right, they will take care of is blah blah blah"
Nah... s broke and this is embarrassing, Do better
