Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

They just bought a studio? Maybe being a meta organisation like frontier is a notch that chris roberts always had the itch for.

With all due respect, have any of you been watching those youtube oceangate documentaries? Of course the outcome isn't catastrophic, but there are so many similarities between oceangate and cig it would... make an awesome golgot video.

....

So what could be the reason? They're looking to sell cig and give up? What value is there to bolster the corporate side of cig, probably at the cost of millions of backer money for a corporate deal completely unrelated to the game?

And salt e mike is squealing in excitement.

Oceangate was by a madman that risked his own life. SC was by a conman that risked your own money.
It's much worse than that, he was risking other rich peoples lives... who he also fleeced for a lot of money to go under the sea in the kind of unregulated or safety tested submersible I could have probably run up on my 3D printer 😐

A rather tasteless comparison that hasn't escaped certain tactless members of the 3D printing community of late...

"Skyrim took 3 years to develop for a dev team of around 100 people (4000 hours a week, 208,000 a year for a total development time of 624,000 dev hours). In other words CiG is probably generating more dev hours for Star Citizen/Sq 42 every 6 months than Skyrim's entire development timeline, possibly far more in fact. Obviously there are efficiency losses but still."

🍿
Now that is just not "efficiency losses" but mindboggling incompetence.

And in international waters. Perfect setup for a blind-folded narcistic impulse that doesnt want to bother about common sense. I suppose there were similar personalities at work.

Funny comment from Spectrum...

Ya know what other funny figure went on about innovation and not being held back by the industry.

Amazing!

I'm sure game devs around the world are sitting up and taking notice about this accomplishment!
I think I understand now why they have not finished their Space Vandals combat animations so far. This is not about simply animating a model. Each Space Vandal is going to be controlled by a Que Pasan neural network, so first it needs to learn how to stand, walk etc. Only then it can proceed to training combat moves, which will take much more time before it becomes a fully fledged Que Pasa warrior.

This happened to me last night. For the record, this can happen if you don't switch your ship engines off, but mine were switched off. When I got back onto the ship, they were magically switched on :D

I cannot understand a single word, but you seem to be having fun.
