It would be a net win for sure. I mean, why hold the success of Star Citizen back like that? And give Steam a cut of their hardly earned cash? I don't think so.

After The Day Before its even less likely for Star Citizen to be on steam because Steam. Steam gave a blanket refund regardless of tiem played because it was an obvious scam. Then again if you look at Grey Zone Warfare, they had additional addons that were even more expensive tha the base game adn those can't be refunded. If CIG really wants to do it I guess they could sell the base Star Citizen for $45 and then each ship for $$$$ as addons that can't be refunded. The catch is they have to release those ships because people who bought $$$$ of ships but never had access to them can still get their refunds. It would be a net win for sure. You don't want to see that arrogance hit the wall of reality that is Steam Reviews? Even for a couple of months before it gets pulled?I don't want them on Steam either. Having their own platform and not playing along with everyone else makes their arrogance more obvious.
Obviously the answer to the problem for Star Citizen is that they should generate more revenue by releasing it as early access on Steam. Imagine the influx of players!
If they put SC on Steam it'll get review bombed.
What is the opposite of review bombed? Review love-bombed?If they put SC on Steam it'll get review bombed.

In short, it's probably because CIG don't control the platform, the discussion forum or review system. It's a big risk for their continued operation.

edit:If they put SC on Steam, it still won't exist.
I wouldn’t put it past CIG to use that hard earned jpeg money into review bots or 3rd party “review support” services to pump steam reviews. Strongly suspect they use it already for bots in twitch and have a likely history of artificially inflating content creation views (Rexzilla etc), so botting Steam wouldn’t be very surprising. If they put SC on Steam it'll get review bombed.
At one time I wanted that, but now considering there are still people who are still rabid about defending the scam, I want it as far away from the general gaming industry as possible. You don't want to see that arrogance hit the wall of reality that is Steam Reviews? Even for a couple of months before it gets pulled?
I know it happens the world over, but I still find it incredibly sad and inexplicable...especially when it happens a mile or so from your house. 77 pilot whales died a few days ago on the island after the largest mass beaching in over 100 years

Steam sells a lot of scams and hot garbage asset flips, though.Maybe Steam doesn't even want it on their platform. You can't really force a shop to sell your - whatever SC is. I think there is a market for garbage but even that market has quality standards SC would fail.
But it's usually projects that haven't proven over a decade that they are really a scam.Steam sells a lot of scams and hot garbage asset flips, though.
Personal & Instanced Hangars
- Sound is loud and distorted (NB).
- A waiting queue of 10 minutes before I can leave my hangar is not acceptable (NB).
- I was unable to return to the lobby as the elevator panel broke (NB).
- The panels at some of the elevators were broken (NB) or there was no elevator at all (EH)
- A C1 was spawned inside my hangar merging with my Retaliator (EH).
[HANGARS]
[TAKEOFF] - [Medium Hangar / Orison] - Sometimes when taking off from the hangar, the doors look open, but when going thru the empty space, the ship will explode and you're kicked to infirmary.
[DEPARTURE] - [Medium Hangar] - Sometimes after taking off from hangar(~2mins), your ship will despawn and leave you in open space, or kick you back to the planets spaceport ASOPS.
[ELEVATOR] - [Medium Hangar] - Sometimes when you press your medium hangar on the elevator pad, it will take you to a Docking Hangar first. Sometimes from there you can get to your medium hangar, sometimes not.
[ELEVATOR] - [Rendering] - Sometimes still the inside of the elevator doesn't render and you can't see anything inside the elevator.
[IMPOUNDING] - [Ground Vehicles] - Sometimes when driving a ground vehicle into your ship and bumping in to something, you'll get a wreckless driving message and vehicle will get impounded message.
Why do we have to deal with this type of thing inside our own hangar with our own ships?
[SHIP SPAWN FAILURE] - Sometimes when trying to retrieve your ship in the hangar, nothing happens.
Retaliator
- The lights in the cargo modules are still broken.
- The external elevator buttons of the cargo modules are no longer there.
- The internal elevator buttons of the cargo modules are no longer functional.
- Using the open all door when sitting in the pilot seat only lowered the front cargo bay elevator - the rear one is bricked.
- There is no light at the elevator pad.
Is it really review bombing if it's well deserved? If they put SC on Steam it'll get review bombed.
