Aug 2016, official LY statement Dec 2016 declaring "We’ve been working with Amazon for more than a year" so there's obvious correlation between "tech" ambitions and LY "choice". No mentions of "CryEngine, Crytek, license or legal issues" BTW.You have to remember the context. Chris was constantly coming out with stuff like this at the time (Aug 2016):
It's true that when I had read about the switch to LY, it was after I had learned about the lawsuit by CT. Perhaps it had influenced the way I read all the news about the switch. So when he goes on to cite networking & 'the cloud' as the primary reason for the switch, while dumping on the 'single server architecture' of the engine he initially chose for his 'MMO', it's pretty clearly a claim of 'this takes us closer to server meshing'.
The magical claims come from Chris and co. The current reality, of absolutely no server meshing, just makes those magical claims look daft![]()
Same here, don't worry. The key difference is I don't tend to pick what's true or not, what's said or not, what's to be taken into account or not, in any CIG statement. Given their track records I unilaterally choose to not believe any of their words. They have worn out my trust since long. It's true that when I had read about the switch to LY, it was after I had learned about the lawsuit by CT. Perhaps it had influenced the way I read all the news about the switch.
According to Spectrum...only the stupid onesThat's as rational as believing a certain billionaire won an election.
Are the backers still claiming SC is delayed because CIG is "focused" on SQ42?
Only for me and at the moment :@LittleAnt
Genuine question here Ant, how many times are you willing to be bitten in the backside, (lied to, misled, let down, take your pick), before you say 'enough'? Just seems to me we are already well beyond the point where any reasonable or rational person would have any faith left to give CIG/Mr Roberts.
Only for me and at the moment :
Why stopping supporting CIG if doing so just remove some enjoyment in my life ?
- I find no other space game that give me more pleasure than the current SC alpha, even with its bugs
- I find no other space project to support with features that appeal me (one exception for EDO)
- CIG deliver slowly patch after patch. I find everytime something new that I like in each patch

When CIG delayed SQ42 for at least a year (and cancelled their SQ42 video series), you didn't want to comment. We literally had to drag a small number of words from you.Why stopping supporting CIG...
As you have only 'pledged' the minimum amount in what 7 years? I find your support somewhat lacking.Only for me and at the moment :

Yes we have talked about it before. My opinion haven't changed.I seem to recall us having this convo before... i wonder if you opinion has changed on the matter.
Said it also before, all CR says is 'hypothetical' for me but I'm convinced he tries to deliver his vision. And as the glimpse of his vision in the alpha enjoy me since I test it, it's enough for me to give him credit for the future. You can enjoy aspects of the game and recognise that Chris talks a lot of unreliable nonsense. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Just look at Mole & Vape![]()

Like, let others do it? Project would be well dead by now if all backers put in the bare minimum. There are other ways than money to support a project.

Ok I'll bite. What are those other ways? And I bet Chris Roberts disagrees with you. There are other ways than money to support a project.
Spending time helping new players in the alpha, explaining on forums what the alpha can offer, giving technical advices on reddit for new comers...Ok I'll bite. What are those other ways? And I bet Chris Roberts disagrees with you.![]()
