Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

For me it will be. I've never played SC,

Maybe get in touch with someone like our dear Mole to hold your hand.

It's one of these...one of the oldest of the flyable ships in Star Citizen. It was king of the cargo haulers until a few weeks ago. Ci¬G nerfed it a year ago after much whining and crying on Spectrum by the PewCrew... who clouldn't make it explode quickly enough to stop it escaping... they removed one of it's shield generators turning it into nothing more ferocious than a flying loot piñata :cautious:

Its like a giant river barge, great ship tho... it feels every bit its size and mass when flying it.

Trading is just like it is in ED, you have to find the most profitable routs and if someone with a fully load Cat gets there before you prices at that outpost crash, Those damned Cat owners, when ever i see one i have an itch to blow it out of the sky :p

Join up with sovapid. Join the dark side.

And more....

Have you been to prison yet?

Lol 😄

They have also started doing big dynamic events which they will be dropping in every few months, they run for 2 or 3 weeks, the last one was the Xeno Threat Event

Surely Xeno was the first one?

Guess we'll see what they provide this patch.

Except the whole SC market is currently crashed (seemingly due to 30ked servers re-entering the pool and being counted as a trade surge), hence the ~1% profit ratio per run people are seeing on big hauls. And if you hit a 30k yourself you lose all your cargo.

Other than that just like ED ;)

Yes Cat is short for Caterpillar, Connie short for Constellation, the Base Freelancer is the Space P###, the Avanger is the Penguin. the Cutlass is the Cutty, We, that is my Org, call the Base Starfarer the Lesnick and the Military one the Lesnick of War, SC insiders will get that one...

The Starfarer is fat?

So am I crazy for being more excited about Fleet Week than I am about Odyssey?

Most definitely.

Fleet week will be the same old broken physics acting up, streamers pretending to be surprised/amazed by a 3d model moving on screen, and people patting themselves on the back for bankrolling the project by another few millions. Like, yawn.

Odyssey now will crash on some PCs, expose tons of uncaught/unfixed bugs, surprise people who haven't found out about the Horizons/Odyssey multiplayer segregation, reignite the crusades of VR fundamentalists and ship interiorists, highlight hilarious practices such as ramming drop troops with an Eagle, launch exciting new debates about the future of space legs, and one of the 3 PP players still around is bound to ask about ground combat merits. The forums are going to be glorious, and you should absolutely be excited. I know I am!

All you people who hate Star Citizen, why do you live in this thread? Where are the fans?

I guess I should be glad y'all didn't make your home in my Space Engineers thread, LOL :p

Oh dear, not you as well.

Why do you think we hate Star Citizen?

Its a computer game (or might be one day). You can generally like or dislike a game, but hate it? Well, i suppose you could come to hate a game like Dark Souls after playing it....

Most of us here who dump on SC are dumping on CIG due to their long history of lying to backers and dishonest and exploitative marketing practices... as well as their seeming inability to actually focus on and produce a game.

This has to be one of the most successful grifts in history. The thing is, the grift is so successful that they really can't ever release the game - their revenue would crater.

I'm not so sure. The faithful are so conditioned to buying spaceships (and after all spread out over a year a few hundred dollar spaceship is no more than how much they spend in Starbucks! Its practically a bargain!) that post release i'm sure many will just keep buying ships... just as long as CIG keep producing them.

Not to dump the whole development team under the CIG umbrella, as if CIG is CR.

There are a lot of good people at CIG who are trying their hardest to make the best game they can, i appreciate those people, and the game, it is a good game to me and many others, i realise this is subjective and those who don't like it should also realise this.

I understand its problems and acknowledge them, one can do that and still appreciate it for what it is and enjoy it.

If you want to see just how successful CIG's marketing campaigns really are, have a browse on #starcitizen on Twitter during fleet week and marvel at all the simps urging each other on to spend more money on spaceships in a broken alpha, while not playing the game.

It's an ingenious business model really. Onlyfans models actually have to work for a living.

More like enjoying picking up a pay check while not needing to release anything.

Welcome back @LittleAnt glad youre OK, I see your desire to not post as much soon went by the by in the last few pages, its like an addiction I know.

Yes :p

Feetweek is ok, it can be fun but its nothing special.
I've enjoyed ED over these past few weeks, its a good game and i'm really looking to its space legs, ok for you old ED veterans it might not be anything special, but for me it is. :)

have you seen this? Just released. And for @Mole HD the only running is in the combat bits, it looks like theyve actually slowed down the walking for dramatic effect in the rest of it. And theres a strange tag on it 'In game footage', 'What does that mean?' many of you may ask, 'Ive never seen that in SC trailers before'....

I only ever had one coffee at Starbucks. I find it is just overpriced. But my boss invited me so I went up to the counter and was really tempted to answer "What's it to you, friendo?" when being asked for my name. But I'm just too polite so I said I'm Gaius Aemilius

CR is the head. Everything devolves from him. Doesn't matter if the rest of CIG is made up of good people, its CR that makes the decisions. And from what we know of CR, from his own statements and those of people who have worked with him, he will be involved in making all the decisions.

For sure!

Then let's go down a little bit further in the memory lane...
