Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

It does. Citizens will still be falling over each other to buy it though.
Only the Pokemon collectors, the Raft is a fairly useless purchase or CCU option with only 96 scu of cargo space. There are cheaper alternatives that carry far more cargo like the Freelancer max with 120 scu...as a dedicated medium hauler, it's far outshone by the multirole competitors like the Connies or MSR...or even the other dedicated haulers like the Hull A, B or C.

When folk are buying ships it's to fill a specific purpose in whatever role they chose to go for...or as an addition to broaden the scope of any small fleet. The Raft doesn't fit any of those functions...it has novelty value only. I suspect the Raft was originally designed as a medium refinery ship but after Ci¬G gave the Starfarer it's original function back as medium refinery/refueller, they had nowhere to go with the hull design so added 3 underslung 32 scu droppable cargo boxes in place of the refinery....that's only my personal guess, but other than that, I can't see a purpose or market for such a poor load weight hauler.

The story of my night...jumped in with the guys to do the 890J mission, glitched inside an EVA suit locker somehow with no way to free myself...so they left me there for half an hour whilst I stupidly assumed they were looking for a way to free me. Once I realised they had no intention of doing so and not wanting to commit Sepuku and lose all my gear, I logged out and back in again....only to find myself spawning back into the same cupboard. *&%$ your new working persistence Ci¬G...

Friends...can't live with them, can't live (or die) without them 😑

Are said friends going in a few boxes and chucked into space later?

Is this before or after whatever pressure is on the server i.e. from curious gamers taking advantage of the free to play/free ships period?

It’s recent, so during the free fly. But that actual bug existed already in 3.15. (Corpses displaying as headless t-posers)

Whether the free fly is making stuff like that worse? Your guess is as good as anyone’s ;)

The free-fly is making everything worse...desync and associated server related errors in every avenue of gameplay have now reached new levels of intolerable. Ci¬G are also unlikely to issue a patch fix until the free-fly is over, even though the PTU build is still active. I can't wait till it's over and done with :cautious:

Guy seemingly gives away his $2.5k fleet in a huff.

Turns out he’s apparently a programmer of 20+ years, and prone to digging behind the scenes:

Oh, and as a bonus, he was an ED 'refugee' of sorts back in January ;)

So just a fun bit of unverifiable gossip about server meshing ultimately. (But on the pile it goes ;))

Follow up fun from the OP 😁

Still to be taken with a carafe of condiment of course. But on the 'board member' thing, hypothetically he'd have Erin's number in that case ;)

Sure, pinch of salt, but Bootcha who had ties to CR was the earliest big detractor, so wouldn't be surprising if over time others who had ties to CR/CIG also started to let their feelings known.

Oh I mean there's quite the list of "I've worked with Chris, he's doing XYZ again, the project is boned" quotes about the place now. The vast majority are in the anonymous realm though. (It's a bit unprofessional to go full 'stand up and point fingers' etc ;)). Or via second hand gossip etc.

Bootcha was a big fan, stuck proper investment money on the line, and then found what he saw behind the scenes morally dubious. He's got a more potent cocktail of reasons to come forward than most. (And he's still doing that with his cosplay helmet on in theory).

You know, it only takes a cursory look at the general discussion forum to see your statement is 100% false.

There was a big hoo-ha recently about a person getting banned from the forums for being critical. Turned out, he wasn't even banned from the forum. He had a temp ban from the thread.

That's a far cry from CIG's 10 year bans.... but having said that, a 10 year ban on Spectrum isn't an issue. Its not like the ban is still going to be in effect when SC releases :D
Not false. I'm living proof. Many were banned for criticizing. User names just don't say banned under them like they use to.

Then i'm pretty certain you actually broke a rule and not banned for criticizing. If people were banned for being critical half the forum would be banned. I'd be banned.
Very true, some of the stuff I have posted has been highly critical and not even had a warning (just look at my posting history :D)
