The date I gave not fulfilled (I don't care) doesn't change the fact that CIG is working and progressing on each of this points.
Well you should care sunshine. That's the point.
CIG keep missing those deadlines,
year after year, for a reason. Because progress is not actually being made in some key areas. Most notably the networking...
On Predictions:
In the latest delays: The PES/Replication Layer update was pushed from its Q1/Q2 launch window to "late Q3". The Replication Layer job has since had 3 months added to its dev run (taking it into
mid September). It would be no surprise if the following SSM/Pyro patch got pushed yet again too. At minimum, it's certainly reasonable for Agony to mock those who have said it might come sooner

. (And utterly absurd for you to contest that post, given your woeful track record in this area...)
On Progress and 'Industrialisation':
By CIG's own admission, the proposed SSM/Pyro patch
doesn't scale. The fact that it will initially double the number of solar systems while keeping the same player count signals that clearly enough. Without significantly expanded player counts they can't expand the play space much further. But CIG state they don't have a concrete plan to achieve this end.
Hopes for a desirable solution are pinned on 'Dynamic Server Meshing', itself a further blue sky R&D dream, with no meaningful precedent. (Neither DU nor Planetside, for example, have to support complex NPCs on their servers, or detailed graphical bling at density on their player's clients).
Even enthusiastic experts suggest the grander aims of DSM are unobtainable, that SSM will likely bring only minimal performance gains, and that its use requires a downgrade of some existing gameplay functionality. With that backdrop, it's interesting to see Chris
drawing back from claims that SSM will bring the desired tick rate and performance improvements. Shifting that expectation to the nigh-mythical DSM instead...
Can you hear the can being kicked down the road yet...?
Because you should. They've been kicking it for quite some time now...
---
TLDR:
They are boned. And desperately trying to figure out how the hell to deliver the NPCs, scale, twitch gameplay, and visual grandeur in concert that they've promised.
Yet more buzz words, R&D, prevarication, and missed deadlines are required...
This will all happen again and again.
Perhaps you will understand what's really going on in one or 2 years.
