Star Citizen Discussions v7

Or what? :) Every month this show stays on the road is more profit for CR and co. Not for the company, but for the people at the top. CIG may go broke, CR wont.

This is also true (but it really isn't profit in the accounting sense) - it seems highly likely that Chris and the other main players have already taken out more money in 5 years than any of their employees or indeed most of us will earn in a lifetime.

There's money in them there Jaypeggssssss!!

You would have called it a failure no matter what. Most people would consider grabbing over four million dollar in a november for a pre-alpha years from release is pretty darn good. How much do you think FD earned this month on ED? I know it is painful for some here to admit, but that is simply a solid profit. Deservedly or not, that isn't the issue.

It is not a profit. That's whole story. If that would be a profit after finished game released I would understand.

FD most likely got five hundred thousands on the top of two finished games - that's pure profit.

I don't care about CR getting away with this. I am saying it is not enough to finish game and thus impartiality have very faint basis there.

Don't think some of the backers would let him get away with that. There are more than a few broken brained individuals on reddit whose dreams would be shattered. [wacko]

Why does their launcher need to blast music. It's a launcher .

Well, in x hours when this finishes I can maybe tell you what gameplay was added but I am sure others are already figuring out what they are impressed with and what's still a colossal disappointment.

In the future, when people describe this method of money raising, I'm sure it'll be called a "Robert's Scheme". ;)

"This bypass you're proposing is preposterous!"

"But we need it - it's essential"

"Where can we find the money?"

"Ahh... let's just 'Star Citizen' it."*

"Good plan :) "

* Edit - can be substituted with the term - "Do a Roberts on it"

Most recent patch experience...

Download, launch.
Choose universe.

Spawn, enjoy the hitches and glitches.
Get annoyed at having to run back and forth.
Get in ship.
Figure out why the keyboard layout is so awful, discover 'n' is for landing gear, not 'l' and b'b is for quantum travel because reasons I suppose.
Fly about for a bit, wonder why space is so blurry.
Get annoyed with the screen flashing red and blurring more whenever my ship moves, this sure is immersive!
Quantum travel to Yela
Ship explodes near planet for seemingly no reason as I try to get a nice look at it, a warning I can't read flashed on my screen for appr. 0.3 seconds.

Turn off SC out of boredom.

Well, yeah, Morrowind had funky animations compared to today's standards. But it was a game changer and really helped keep PC gaming alive in those years. A real "savior" of PC gaming. I did like being able to hop and bound around with feathered and light boots all over the place :)
