I've been wondering why Crytek mentioned the expected feedback-loop from CIG - whereby part of the deal was CIG would update the engine and give those improvements back to Crytek - I wonder if it is trying to stop CIG from saying that the only part of the Crytek engine they took with them to Amazon was the stuff they built themselves?

With all usual IANAL caveats applied, CIG are arguably on a sticky wicket, but this will take years to pan out, and likely do so out of court. Unless Crytek do get an injunction. In all outcomes, this year's Christmas SC and SQ42 celebration is going to be 'interesting'. What money on Chris wearing sackcloth and raking over cold ashes?

He used to get owned fairly regularly, but it seems the level of discourse about games has dropped to a level where he can throw his weight around now.

I quite deliberately never had a home Internet connection until the mid 00s, and even during my time at university doing a CompSci degree (1990 - 94) didn't go near BBs/Usenet unless I absolutely had to.

I love the timing of this.

A week out from finally showing SQ42 (or at least their promise to) and it's highly likely they won't be able to. It's a brilliant tactic to put the pressure on.

I say this as one of the original golden ticket backers (Misc Freelancer but never put any more in). I put my money down because they launched right before Frontier did and no one saw Elite coming.

Its the other way around I suspect. CIG must have known this was gonna happen, so they suddenly start promising Sq42 stuff days before they know this is gonna happen?
