in March 2018 your question will be even more funny and probably valid at the same time :)

From the earlier quotes it sounds to me as if they're pushing to get something called 3.0 out of the door ASAP, whatever features have to be cut to do it. So I suspect the Evocati at least will have their hands on it fairly soon. THEN the fun and games will begin! :)

It certainly looks like they are preparing for an imminent MVP release to me as well but I m not holding my breath that it ll happen anytime "soon" ^^

...and what on earth is "a more focused polish of traversal"?

It would be tempting to say there's only one thing they're polishing. And it's not a traversal.

However, it would appear that the approach is to avoid fixing bugs by dropping features. It will be interesting to see what's left once baby and bathwater have both been discarded.

So they basically start to cut ballast to release something, LOL. Must be everything sinking at CIG. Not long for now.

Sad ending to grand project.

The possibility of an MVP is further enhanced by the ToS change.
There'll be no refunds after that unless they go on Steam!

At the end they will slap "3.0" designation on 2.6 and call it a day.

Well, whatever they call it, I'm looking forward to a new release. It can't be any worse than what's already out, and it's bound to be full of new features that they've been promising for years - right?

Yes - and we can put an optimistic spin on all the bugs.
Here is a list of new features for the 3.0 release

* New Ramp Weapon - flatten your enemies
* Network code - play in smaller intimate settings with a few of your friends
* Automatic T-pose - when your character is tired of carrying a gun, it will go into a restful T-Pose position
* Flight model - these are modern space craft with mastery over physics. You can stop and turn on a dime.
* Physics - this is the future. You don't need to worry about physics.
* Buggy - drive a buggy on a planet with realistic wheels that come off
* FOIP - talk about features that will never appear in the game

Any ramp weapon would be ineffectual as the warning buzzer will go off the second it is deployed.

"Warning! This asset is reversing!"

That really should be the last thing they should ever think of developing.

Imagine you are one of the programmers or designers at CIG. You sit there working through a list of bugs when CR comes bounding in like an excited puppy and states he wants them to implement actor biological functions and have working toilets to support that.

The devs. look at their list of tasks, sigh, and get to work building virtual colons, when all they really wanted to do was to get that darned netcode nailed down.

...and what on earth is "a more focused polish of traversal"?

Looking at quotes on another website, it appears that they're talking about traversing their universe. So just travelling between moons or stars or some-such.

They should allow the commandos to buy a recycler that converts the poop back into food and water.
