We love space shooters.

We all played the hell out of X-Wing, Wing Commander, and that entire generation of amazing space combat games. That’s why we’re so excited to be creating the next game in that rich lineage: STARFIGHTER INC., a hardcore team-based PvP multiplayer space shooter in the vein of X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter.

We want to recapture the intensity and excitement of those games and provide a fresh experience via modern graphics, new gameplay, and awesome gear derived from the science of today and tomorrow.

With one of the guys from Totally Games on board, I'm in for $15 :D

I wonder which engine they are using. Unreal?
 
Oh my, this could turn out real nice. Level Designer at Factor 5 is in...

I'm just so dissapointed in Star Citizen right now, which is the first game I backed. I'm a bit on the defensive.
 
The lead designer of all the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games ( also Saints Row 2, the best one ) is heading this. It also has some of the guys from Crysis and other decent games. Seems like a good venture, especially for the 15$ early bird package.

I'm really excited for this one, but then again, last time I was this excited, I backed Star Citizen.

It looks like they have their ambitions in check.

That seems doable by August 2016.

@Pomerlaw : Is there any questions you have or comments about how they handled the game you would like to let us know?

@Bliss We've been asked not to say much about the engine at the moment. However someone did sneak something by us, so if you read the article on gamebiz it will let you know! (can't post links so I am new here.) Also bliss the scope of the project is very important to us. We wanted to make something realistic whether we get the base funding goal or blow it away like Star Citizen did!

I would love to pledge an alpha package, but I simply don't have the money at the moment... *staring at the base package*
 
While I did back the project, I don't like the fact that their are exclusive ships and weapons to higher tier backers.
 
52k now, all $15 pledges are gone, but there is now 1k of $16 pledges that have been opened up. I am betting they were not expecting the $15 to sell out so fast.
