State of the Game

But, seriously, concourse performance on "all ultra" seems better.
And this fidelity thing seems to make picture less blurry.
On my way to make an "all maxed ultraforcapture" planetary landing.

Hmm.... never seen anything like that.
Everything maxed.
Scavengers lurking on ground.
Stable 60 fps.
Feels unreal.

Premature excitation.

Night settlement performance is bad.
Reducing shadows did not help much, gonna check what impact switching terrain from ultraforcapture to ultra has.
EDIT: I'm not, I better get back to packing.

It's actually quite funny when you think about it.

I mean, the whole Vikings taking over England and then a band of other Vikings throwing the first set of Vikings out. So, Vikings still rule England? ;)

Also, it goes to prove how confused Vikings could get when they got bored.
It also explains the accents in England - a lot of the East coast - Yorkshire and upwards, have very 'Hurdy Gurdy' accents (I know what I mean). The lilt / pronunciation of some words is very norse sounding.
Also still use norse words such as: Yam, as in 'Ah's gaan yam!' (I'm going home)

Wildly off topic: I'm actually looking forward to playing odyssey tomorrow. Hopefully the update will improve things.

I get good fps anyway, but still hoping to push on planet fps high enough to make VR playable. If not will continue in 2D, which still looks good.

Back on topic: I'm drinking whisky and watching the new avengers, wonderfully English/ very silly
Dunno what you're going on about with the OT part of your post. Has someone made a board game of Homer's epic poem? Does it need an icosihexagon dice (or others) to play?

However. Back on topic, for fear of incurring the wrath of 'he who shall not be blamed'....

I very much liked the 1998 Avengers film with Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, Sean Connery, Eddie Izzard (cor blimey), and even (awww) Patrick Macnee - in a massive nod to the orginal TV series! Although the film seemed to be broadly panned by reviewers, as long as you put your silly-hat on, it's perfectly fine. Well, it was for me. So there!

The linguistics around the Anglo-Saxon/Norse/Norman transitions and localisations is fascinating.

@Oztig is absolutely correct that a lot of the North East of England (The old Danelaw areas) still use a lot of Norse derived words, especially in farming. Other hangovers are the existence of Saxon derived words alongside the Norman derived words - generally speaking, if there are two words for a thing in English the word which is longer and fancier is the Norman - e.g. Lamb and Mutton.

I liked it also - and after seeing the original Avengers series you already had the silly hat on, so that's expected :)
