The fantastic thing about going that deep is its under so much pressure things like lead just float. Even a nuclear explosion would do very little- you'd never know on the surface bar some bubbles

I used to think about bath farts as depth charges, chasing Soviet submarines out of the Baltic and the Danish straits.

Looks like that particular Cold War malarky is being brought up again. Could be the French were treated to the Cameron's preferred ending? It was basically that the deep dwellers was a bit annoyed with all the nuclear testing etc and threatened to wipe us all off the map. I think Ed Harris managed to pull off a sob story and they didn't. It's a bit blurry.
