State of the Game

They will tho won't they.

My guess is that they've been holding back on the ground content and narrative surrounding ground content so that consoles dont miss out on all of it. But at some point that starts hurting more than it would ever help. If they have any plans for consoles ...i would think they'd hold off on ground thargoids until then and give PC the space spiders to hold us over.

With space spiders, you could drag out revealing ground thargoids for months. Without them, setlement fatigue only has carrier interiors to help out - barring the introduction of Diplomacy... and i dont see carrier interiors being a big factor for the bulk of players.

space spiders is what odyssey needs. It might even be helpful to be leveraged as missing gameplay to exobiology.

Bonus if you can exobiology acquire space spider eggs when scanning certain queen spider corpses. Then when returning to stations, sell them to the black market. This would behave like UA bombing. where if the station can't be fumigated with enough player deliveries of supplies ...station goes into outbreak state and the system is populated randomly across landable planets with space spiders.

Eventually the station can be cleaned but the planets would have to be individually cleared of space spiders thru multi "combat zones" that have triggers that grow each tick the triggers aren't met.

They never continued the story or built on it. I agree with your thinking that the console release is probably holding back Odyssey content tho. Maybe its something being discussed as they've been so quiet recently. If they decided to drop console Odyssey maybe we will see some content soon.

it would definitely point in that direction if we did see some major narrative events - especially if we got ground thargoid gameplay. frontier likes their surprises for every release (especially the major releases) and launching console odyssey without any would probably not be their plan.

so, successful pig heart transplant (so far), now pig kidneys. eating bacon to form muscle and fat. How much part-pig can you be and still be considered human enough for something like the olympics?

Perhaps even more pertinent for Kumo Crew, is how many pig organs (or which ones) are needed until you are flavored like pork?

I thought maybe it was customary for them to be super late coming back from christmas break but it looks like that's not true. we usually get a dev/community update in the first half of january.

like a week ago last year we got the update that odyssey wasn't going the way they had hoped.

That timescale is good for me.
It's taken me 7 years and 35 days to get to deadly 84%, so at current rate I anticipate being elite combat on 18th march 2022.
This will give me 2 1/2 months to get to elite exploration then...

I somehow made elite combat during on foot battles during the last war in carcosa. Maybe a stray shot hit a ship or something.
