I have departed in my SRV from ground stations in Horizons before. check you don't have a bug as I've heard of other people having problems with their SRVs at the moment too.

running an integrity check can't hurt. If other people have had the issue you might be able find it on the bug tracker and add yours to the mix.

Well, he lost his pants, he felt less drunk, and at some time was in his bunk. Twice.
Also, Rubbernuke used his cats-powerplay meme, which made a lot of people flee. And send Bottom hat to his bunk.

All of that may have impaired his capabilities to collect stuph.
