And generally raising a child is so extremely responsible task,
it makes dancing waltz on a mine field feel like something banal, a piece of cake.
The awareness of the fact that your EVERY word, gesture, emotion can and will impact the future of your child
in ways you don't have a chance to predict unless you use 150% of your brain on focusing on reading child's feedback to your every action
to identify mis-/over- interpretations and apply corrections/ additional explanations ALL THE TIME you are interacting with your child is...
Well, it's pretty serious task if you care about the "outcome".
I mean if you love your child, naturally.
I think you overthink some things.
Yes kids need our guidance and protection but mostly they come out quite right.
I mean except from pattern recognition in crap planetary tech systems we are evolutionary made for raising kids....

I (until my commitment to an insane asylum) used to do a lot of babysitting, and would take the kids to Greenwich park, I was highly sought after by parents who wanted to introduce their children to "a real pirate" (my dress sense is in no way nautical, merely 18th century, but try explaining that to a five year old)

how many grave mistakes your parents made while they were raising you

how well could you identify the link netween those specific fails and some of perks/flaws of your psyche after you left your home.
If you had your share of

you tend to be VERY careful with things you say to your kid and how you answer his questions to keep the balance between protecting him and his childhood and exposing to him how the "adult" world is mean and ugly sometimes.
